Last year: "Eddie “Flathead Ed” Wilcoxson, 56, was fishing at Bartlett Lake and using a 2-pound carp as bait." 76 pound flathead. The Lower Colorado River in the Reservation also has big flatheads. That was a super cool gesture to send her that stuff. That dial on the back of the bait runner reel adjusts the drag after you flip the lever.

Back in UK there used to be a rod called an up tider or uptider. It had the umpf of a surfcaster but in the length of a of a boat (ocean) rod- thick mutt to fine tip and could cast boat ounceage weights useful distances. I’m not sure if they are still made but if I really wanted one I’d make it. Could be a saleable thing.

Hey Dave, how bad are those Walmart ugly sticks? For the price they don’t seem to be too bad. I just paired one up with a Piscifun Chaos XS 50. Seems to be a nice cheaper set up. I recently landed a 40+ pound flathead on one of those Bass Pro Shop Graphite Series rods and was praying it doesn’t break like the one you had. The video is on my KZbin channel. Was unable to weigh the fish, but we were just guessing. I appreciate all your content. Keep it up!
