I could be wrong, but it didn't seem like Geelong were flooding. Felt as if they would have 8 guys in their back 50 who they trusted enough to stop Carlton from scoring, and then when they won possession back, they outnumbered Carlton on the rebound because their half forwards were in perfect position to receive ball and slingshot, giving them a more open inside 50 entry which created better looks at goal, which was why they were so efficient with their inside 50 to goal ratio.

how exactly does a game where both teams scored over 100 points suggest that “the flood” is back which he’s described as a strategy where you flood your back half with players to prevent scoring by essentially “parking the bus”

Having an extra in defence is flooding now? Cornes looked like he was genuinely trying not to laugh when Buckley was speaking.

I think Bucks was really saying there are two or three players that are going back adding more to defence for Geelong, JC being the more obvious roamer during a match. Bucks also said Sydney and GWS were doing a similar thing. I guess the Orange Tsunami is now a two-way flood. lol The thing I think he's highlighting with Sydney, GWS and Geelong is that these three teams have an abundance of highly skilled players, who have high footy IQs, that can sense what is needed at any given time in a match and can go play the role that's needed. So, my takeaway is this, if you're team is not as smart and skilled and has none or only a few role players that can play all over the ground, then these teams will most likely beat you. hehehehehe very based facts hahahahaha lol OMG, aaaaahhhhh Bucks I guess you have to come up with something each week.

Geelong are very very good, but the Blues shot themselves in the foot, Jezza best player in the comp. Full credit to the cats for taking their chances. Great game.

I think that Bucks should do what Ross Lyon did. He observed the game as a commentator, and exposed himself to many games, and then went back to coach after an extended period. I think the best thing Bucks can do to get back coaching, is go and call games of football on the radio.

Pretty simple, people lost trust in Geelong last season. World beaters in 2022 then turn round to be so mediocre in 2023. People are on the fence because they got burnt early 2023 waiting for Geelong to be good.

Geelong has no true ruckman, and and an average midfield. They win because they have the best backline (they get control of the ball across halfback) , and they have by far the most talented forward line. And the forwards are great at defence, keeping the ball in their half of the ground.
