Here's a little video from this past summer. This is a spot my wife knew about and we've only been there a handful of times only because of how hard it is to get in there but I wanted to go back and get some more of these huge what seem to be geodes but I'm not so sure they are. If any of you have an idea what these huge ones are let me know.

It takes a sturdy back pack. I can only get one they weigh so much. I'll have to get a bigger saw for these. I cant wait till it's warm enough to cut some more.

Thanks for the information Mike. I appreciate it. Sponge huh? First thing that came to mind was a stromatolite. The ones I have came from one little section of the creek. I'll be doing several videos over the coming days with a variety of those sponges?, geodes, and some other cool stuff I don't know what it is. I just posted a short of some coral a huge collection of coral really old stuff I have no clue how old it is but I found all of that in a little section of Creek right by my house over the past 20 plus years. All I did was a short on it so far but I'm cleaning it and will do a longer video on that but check that short out and let me know what you think about that coral. I'm going to go check your Channel out you have a good day. John

Do you know what they are? In certain creeks that we go to we'll find various types of geodes along with fossils to include some large specimens of coral. I'm going to have to put up a couple more videos with the varieties we have here stay tuned I'll post a video this afternoon with several different varieties of coral along with the geodes. Thanks for watching the video you have a great day

I'm going to have to do some more research on those. I'm leaning towards those being a type of coral or maybe even a buildup of ocean stramatolites. I just did a search on those and they do resemble stromatolites but they look more like Coral. By the way we're going back out to that tree today just to get out of the house so we'll probably take some video. You have a great weekend

You didn't take a screwdriver & hammer to check to see if they were Geodes..

Yeah this is solid crystal. I'll be doing some videos soon of the different types of geode looking stones that we have if you go back into the videos that we posted you'll see the types of geodes we find. I use a wet saw to cut this stuff up but have to admit we used hammers😁 stay tuned because I'm cutting geodes tomorrow probably

I was thinking that resembled the stromatolites of today. I'm going to check out stromatoliths. Do you happen to know what time period this would be from? Thanks for watching the video and thanks for the comment. I'm doing a video shortly with a bunch of this stuff together on one table so stay tuned.
