Lewis Brakes are an incredible MTB disk brake - but which is best?
I compare the LH4 and LH4 Ti brakes from personal use so you can decide which is best for you.

The feel adjustment sounds interesting but you should really declare this as an ad.

How does the free-throw compare to other brakes? I currently have Magura mt7 and im loving the short free-throw compared to Sram, so it would be very helpfull if you could describe the free-throw for me.

How do the lh4s feel without the leverage ratio adjust? Are they like shimano?

The cheaper LH4 are more like Shimano or closer to Sram (I mean: the lever feel). Or it's somewhere between those 2? Also curious: the LHT adjustability (between the 2 "end-points") is huge, or it just slightly modifies the characteristics of the lever? The "middle" setting between the 2 end-points is the "default setting", and the LH4 is comparable to this, ot the LH4 is just as "Shimano-like" as the LHT can be at the one end of the settings?

Leverage ratio adjust only means how far in or out you'd like to land your braking finger on the lever, because the further out you press on the lever the less force needs to be applied to add pressure to the system. Just in the same way if you are using a long wrench on a bolt and you start by holding further in on the handle it will feel heavier to pull than if you place your grip further to the tip of the handle. Leverage ratio = Left/right adjustment of the lever Lever reach = In/out adjustment of the lever

Spares, can you get seals, pistons etc? I've used Hope brakes for 20 years so have an expectation of being able to get every little bit. Mates with Shimano brakes have to buy a new caliper when the seals start leaking.

I second that question. Before I buy any brake I have to know I can get every part as a spare.

The extra adjustment(leverage ratio) on the titanium model simply moves the lever to either side so you can adjust it to your cockpit as well as the size of your hands. It's simply so most people should be able to just land their braking finger naturally on the point where you get the most leverage, so it's not about feel, but simply a cockpit adjustment. It will obviously impact feel but only in terms of how much you need to twist your wrist and/or place your hand to be able to reach the lever. Leverage ratio = Left/right adjustment of the lever Lever reach = In/out adjustment of the lever So, having both axis is a bonus because you simply got more wiggle room to place the tip of that lever exactly where it needs to be for you personally.

Forget everyone saying this is plagiarism, Intense Factory Racing uses these brakes, Gorilla makes pads for them, and multiple big magazines have reviewed them. The cheap knock offs dont get any of that. Lewis unlike those people, makes them all in house

@@LewisOfficialUK Hello from Norway. Which fluid do you reccomend for temperatures below - 10c? Know of any that can do - 20c or below? Should the seals handle these temps? I've read that somone ha issues with pistons not retracting on Lewis brake in - 20c. But no did not mention the fluid they used. I know Bionol can do - 15c. Not tried Formula in colder temps than -10c yet.

I really can't get over it that you as a professional rider are endorsing a chinese company that stole all the engineering knowhow from a german company. How can you justify that as a serious rider with a big reach in the public? Yes, they didn't do everything the same way. But probably 95 percent, and they didn't even bother to adjust the look a little. Just plain plagiarism.

@@wolfpack_adventures I absolutely have to agree with the accusation! The brake systems are 100% copies of the Trickstuff Direttissima and Maxima! Lewis Hydraulics is also based in China! You just need to use the internet properly! I would be interested to hear what Trickstuff themselves have to say about this.
