Are These PS3 Games Really THAT Bad?

Last time we talked about “objectively” bad PS3 games but today I want to talk about some guilty pleasure games of mine that have a bad rep?!
These Playstation 3 games are usually not held up in a very strong light. But are these PS3 games really that bad?
Or has time and internet bandwagoning just given them a bad name?

It´s like a low budget jank version of Gears! I enjoyed it but you have to have a tolerance of clunky controls!

The Godfather II game gets a lot of hate, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. You get to pull badass executions (blasting a machinegun in someone's mouth), recruiting your own gang, taking over rival families' businesses and customizing your character (mine was an obese Kenny Rogers lookalike)

I played the first Godfather game and it was a pretty good time! Will add this to the list and see if I can find a copy! Thanks for the tip!

Quantum Theory was fun for me (since I've never played gears at tye time). The clunky controls weren't that bc I was heavy on killzone 2 at the time lol Nice list! Subscribed!

Glad Lair infiltrated your guilty pleasures list. Such an underrated game! I agree with your assessment of RE Raccoon City too.. Also like Turok, although I have that one on 360. 2 not on this list would be Brink and Heavenly Sword. Brink is is neat concept lacking some depth but Heavenly Sword is among my top 20 favorites on the system!

I was surprised how good Lair is! Most reviews trashed it. But it's pretty dope! Few weeks ago I picked up Brink! Will give it a try soon! I remember playing Heavenly sword years ago! I liked the story but the gameplay was not too great! Might give it a revisit after your recommendation!

@@GamingKick yeah a while back I recommended Lair to you. True hidden gen for sure. Heavenly Sword has God of War like gameplay with some unique motion controls, quick time events and some intense boss battles. Not the most polished game, but the story and nostalgic value are high. When it came out it blew my mind!

@@GamingKick yeah man sure thing! It was an early release,, intended on being a trilogy too.. sadly it never did. Although I happened to find that movie at a dollar store, haha. Brink has its faults but the dual factions and choices make for a fun experience. Another overlooked luanch title is MotorStorm.....Damn I love all of the games in that series. I did however pick up 5 nights at Freddy's core collection for PS4. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be saught after in the future

Just talking about the games I enjoyed! Having a family is a challenge. But I´ve managed to grow my collection by buying and selling used games. Save up buy bigger lots and sell the games you don´t need! And talking about collections, FNAF collection could be going up in price in a few years you never know! All the HD collections on PS3 were worth their money!

My guilty pleasure PS3 game is Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard. Gameplay was repetitive and basic, but the references and humor were amazing. I was laughing and having a blast the whole time.

Fuse, Ride to Hell Retribution, Damnation, Dark Void, Venetica, 50 cent Bots, Saw, Rogue Warrior all sucked from a critical point of view but were all great fun!!

The only truly bad game in this list it's Rogue Warrior. I remember as a kid seeing that cover on the shelf, it looked bad ass, brought it home (Payed full price) finished in 2 or 3 hours...

Paying full price hurts, but if you get it for 10 bucks it´s a pretty good 3 hour shooting fest!

The problem with Max Payne 3 is it’s completely different to the first two so anyone going in felt alienated by it. I’ve tried to play it twice and gave up, I just feel like it’s a game they threw the Max Payne character into rather than a Max Payne 3

The problem with those games is that the better games are cheaper today :) Since I'm not a collector, most of my ps3 games are the ones who have pass the test of time. I don't care about the rare ones that are rares just because they didn't do well. My definition of a hidden gem is a good game that came out at the wrong time against the popular ones. Guilty pleasure hey: Dante's inferno, Kratos can kill himself. Darksiders 1 & 2 , I really don't like Kratos. Soulcalibur 4, because I don't like fighting games but with weapons and ladies...Okay :) The Darkness 2, when horror is fun Prototype 2, who needs resident evil when the monster is the hero? Virtua tennis 3, lol the only sport game I own, I'm a fan of the sport Saints row 3 & 4, make GTA games feel unfunny.

Glad I could help! Would say those games are a bit clunky but if they also have the certain something. Lair has an amazing soundtrack and pretty good story! If you download the controller patch it the gameplay is fun too. Quantum Theory is a good Gears clone with an interesting lore and Rambo is just non stop action. If you have a move controller it´s a blast!

@@GamingKick tried yesterday quantum theory and rambo x360 versions on xenia, like you said quantum is good gow clone, and i liked rambo also played arcade version long time ago...i didn't download lair yet, internet on my work is slow and game is like 23gb, but i will probably tonight...thanks, and keep up with your videos, they are awesome :)

@@Bijuklich Nice! Never tried Xenia. Would you recommend trying it? Does it work well? Heard it´s still a bit buggy with most games! Rambo works even better if you can use a mouse to as a controller.

It's a shame Max Payne 3 didn't get the respect it deserved, it has the best gunplay R* has ever created, better than GTA V and RDRII.

Rogue Warrior deserves all the trash-talking and hate it could get, i don't know how can you defend such a title, the game can be beaten in under 2 hours and has many bugs and glitches and a horrible brain-dead AI with very clunky controls and unsatisfying shooting, i would not recommend such a title unless you're the type who only enjoys crappy games.

If you played it on release and got it for full price sure I´ll agree with you! Got it from the bargain bin last year. Played through it no bugs or glitches. The shooting and AI were decent. Had a good time with it. Rather have a short fast paced shooter.
