are these ridiculously expensive bike tires worth it?

A day out with a few friends on my brand new Ultradynamico Rose gravel tires. I have em' on my Zipp 650b 303 wheelset on my Mosaic Ti frame. Really a fun combo.
The gravel ridden' got too weird though and we got mud everywhere. I was giving my Rapha ProTeam Rain Jacket a run, but the ride was too muddy... but all fun.

I love my Litespeed Watia TI gravel bike so much. Happy to see another member of the TI is Fly crew enjoying their TI bike. By the way, i overspent on Rene Herse tires and premium tires really are better. Cheers mate!

The Rene Herse Ridge tires are a better tire. They roll faster on and off pavement and grip better when you need it. The UD’s file just throws gritty wet sand all over your drive train, not sweet. Congrats on the new ride!

The Hurricane/Oracle Ridge tires are good for chunkier/rockier/more technical terrain, like Class 3/4 gravel. There are better tires out there suited to Class 1/2 gravel, like in the video. The Hurricane/Oracle Ridge tires also work surprisingly well in sand too. I have the Hurricane Ridge tires on a second set of wheels, and they do not roll that fast on pavement compared to fast gravel tires. Regardless of what Jan Heine says, they do not handle like or are as fast as a road tire, unless you're talking about the slowest wire bead touring tire on the market....then sure. I used the Hurricane Ridge at the Utah Belgian Waffle Ride (125 miles) and while they handled all the offroad stuff just fine, they were draggy on the pavement, unless the pavement was pointing downhill (then you don't really notice it).

No chance to ride mine yet. Looks like the race rose will have to be mounted with a tube….the sidewalls won’t hold air when using sealant alone. Flat in less than 2 minutes. The cave looks like it will hold up through a ride before flatting. Very disappointed.
