I play FN with a controller, but when I do play kbm games I use ESDF instead of WASD. Everybody always thinks I'm weird for this, but it's literally just moving one key to the right, which opens up more keyboard while keeping shift and control reachable with the pinky. I remember for a little bit I tried to play FN kbm on IJKL, and use Right-click to move forward, space to ADS, and scroll wheel to jump. That was a weird couple days.

my keybinds are q for pickaxe, z for weapon slot 1 which is mobility, e weapon slot 2 (shotgun), r for weapon slot 3 (ar or heals), weapon slot is 4 (smg), weapon slot 5 is x (heals) then for builds its shift for cone, c for floor, lower mouse button for wall and top mouse button for stairs, t for reload, tab for tac sprint, alt for inventory, 2 for augments and ` for pinging, f and scroll wheel for edit and left mouse button and scroll wheel for reset

Now I play on Azeron, but back when I played mouse and keyboard, I was somewhat known for having my wall on right click (ADS on l-ctrl), and editing with J. I would rest my thumb on J and press spacebar with the palm of my hand. I would argue my binds were some of the most optimal in the game, but definitely unusual. I qualified for FNCS Solo Heats on those binds too so they aren't just a gimmick.

Figured I'd put this out there cause I'm pretty decent as a player and I use diagonal inversion on my build binds. It's basically where your stair is my floor, your wall is my cone, your cone is my floor, and your floor is my cone. I can still edit consistently and get up to 4 triple edits in a row. I can also do ramp flips, triple edits downward and a number of piece control techniques. I play on console. It isn't that wierd but I just wanted to let you guys know that it works and a past friend of mine uses these same settings. Been on them since season 6 so I'm pretty used to them.
