I've seen a few reactors have the same reaction with this episode about how simon needs to be honest with marcus but the thing is HE WAS! marcus literally gaslit him. He straight up said he wasn't ready for anything serious and marcus brought up his dad's relationship, said they could "take it slow" and that "i know you don't want to destroy something this beautiful." like simon straight up said he didn't want a relationship with the guy and he manipulated him back into a relationship and then did multiple controlling behaviors like kissing simon in front of others, saying "we'll get 'em next year" like they'd be together then, and then saying no to the ball only to "change his mind" after. And then when simon was clearly not paying attention to him, offered for him to stay over at his place, implying sex. All of these after simon had already expressed not wanting to be in a relationship. I know yall had already finished watching prior to posting these on youtube but gah it's so frustrating seeing you defend marcus over and over haha he's AWFUL. also wille crying in the mirror wasn't about not having a date. it was because all this time he's been fighting to have control over his life as the crown prince and that was the first time it really hit him that he might have to wear a mask forever to please others. He was well and truly "becoming" the crown prince in that moment and hating himself for it.

I know Simon using Marcus to make Wilhelm jealous is wrong but Simon literally tried to break up with Marcus and told him we would NEVER be ready to be in a relationship with him but Marcus gaslighted him into staying in the relationship telling him all that stuff about his dad which was way out of line and then after saying they can take it slow, HE kissed Simon in front of Wilhelm. yeah and like he didn't even break up the first time around! they weren't even a thing, just two guys making out twice is not being in a relationship. As soon as Simon saw that Marcus was into him and might get hurt he tried to put a stop to it, first by kinda ghosting him (which I admit was not a good mood) and then by honestly communicating his feelings. Marcus 100% brought that on himself by manipulating Simon into a relationship when he expressively said he didn't want to, I don't feel bad for him at all.

Marcus is not a “good guy”. He’s a literal gaslighter. Simon was honest with him from the beginning. He told him he was only down for a hook up but Marcus tried to turn their relationship into more than that. When Simon saw that, he told Marcus he wasn’t ready for anything real but Marcus ignored Simon’s vocal needs and pushed his own agenda onto Marcus. Not cool. Red flags all around. Especially when he showed up to Simons match and acted all couply when that wasn’t what Simon wanted in the first place. Pushing your own agenda onto someone who isn’t ready for that is never okay.

We all keep saying it was unfair for Simon to expect Willie to admit it was him in the video. This was not his expectation or their agreement . In their first conversation when Wille said they wanted him to deny it Simon's response was " but they can see it me " Willie said i just don't want to say anything at all Simon's response to that was they cant tell him what to say but there was no resolution . Later in Wille's room Willie said he would not make a statement on the matter at all ( Simon accepted that compromise) . Wille even said several time to Felice and Nissa/Nils that Simon's problem was that he said he would do one thing and did another and as a result Simon no longer trusts him . After the statement Simon even expressed that he is not asking Willie to come but Wille can't just go do what he wants to do and lay out the terms of their relationship on his own without discussion. Also , I know Wille probably did not express himself in the best way ... but he did not say we have to keep the relationship a secret like before he said " we can't be seen together" . probably what he meant was we can't be seen together in a ways that might suggest we are in a relationship" but what he said was we can't be seen together . PRINCE or not ..that kind of request deserves ZERO understanding . I love them together but not on those terms .

Simon told him he didn't want that relationship, and Markus forced it (what he said about his father... REALLY WRONG). So I have no empathy whatsoever for Markus. Kudos to Bryce for being (in case of these particular series) the most invested and insightful one. I first noticed this during s1e3 Sara/Smysan/Felice interaction at the parents lunch. Pretty rarely reactors instantly catch up with why Sara did what she did. Speaking of the current episode, the reaction to "you want to" acknowledged (for the first time in the reaction series) at least some recognition of Marcus's toxicity and the reaction to the kiss was wery sweet to watch.

yesss! I truly hope we get a scene next season where they explore Marcus's behaviors more and how they affected Simon. That kid has to go through a lot of traumatic experiences and I get that YR is mostly through Wille's POV but I wish they would talk more about Simon's past and emotion (him and Marcus, his dad, his sister's betrayal, ect.)

@@mgtccnl I hope so too, but I'm scared that they won't waste so much time on Simon's POV in the last six episodes after it centred Wille for all this time :( Simon's trauma should have been explored in season 2. When we didn't get that, I lost hope in getting anything in season 3. It just seems a little bit too late now - This is one of the reasons I wished there had been more seasons.

@@mgtccnl I think we got a lot of Simon's POV in season one which .. but we might have missed it as we were not seeing it in context of the relationship but it explains us why he reacted to Willie the way he did in both season 1 and 2 . We also maybe missed it as this as we were not quite sure where they were going with this show as it was done differently from other similar series. ... i think we will see in S3 how he deals with Sara's Betrayal ... Simon wasn't invested in Marcus so while us the Audience was triggered by Marcus it probably didn't impact Simon as he was so checked out of that situation he probably was not clocking Marcus' behaviour at all . We all accuse Marcus of not reading the Room .. but to be fair Simon wasn't even in the room . ... Do i think Marcus was gaslighting Simon YES ... but i think the impact on Simon might not be major as he had no real feelings for Marcus in that regard and he was mentally and emotionally consumed by Willie.

Simon told Marcus he wasn't ready to be in a relationship and he wanted to break up. Marcus essentially told him they weren't breaking up despite what Simon wanted, and brought up Simon's dad to be emotionally manipulative for good measure. I don't think Marcus was being actively malicious, but every therapist has said Marcus' actions were unhealthy at best, and he should've respected Simon's desire to breakup. Can anyone be surprised that Simon isn't into Marcus? Simon made that clear when he said he wanted to break up. Granted, Simon is absolutely in the wrong for doing this to Marcus. Not okay behavior from him either.

I disagree, Simon went to talk to Marcus and he's the one that didn't want to hear it. He pushed Simon to be in a relationship with him. He was honest with Marcus about how he felt and Marcus manipulated and started saying that he didn't know any better because he didn't have good role models like his dad! I love that Simon chose not to tell Marcus the fish's names but he told Wilhelm, those little details are the ones that matter and what differentiate the types of relationships they have. I do NOT like Marcus! Simon and Wilhelm ❤, you can just see the difference when they kiss both their faces light up, they are meant to be! It's not Simon's fault Marcus did not want to break up with him, you can clearly see that he still has strong feelings for Wilhelm. You should watch some of his music videos : Moving like that (official video) and Mi Casa Su Casa (official video). He looks so young, but he's 24, and Edvin Ryding (Wilhelm) is 20.

about the 'it's so weird that she talks in english'; it's because she's from NY and insecure about her swedish skills ! she says she prefers speaking in english because she doesn't like 'sounding like an idiot'. side-note; i feel like casually speaking in english is very common in our generation, even if it's not your native tongue. The reason why Simon is so angry in my opinion is because when he and Wilhelm were together it was a scandal and with Felice Wilhelm has to stand on the table and proudly have to tell everything. and yes he shouldn't use Marcus but Marcus really was gaslighting him last episode. Wille and Simon are only like 15 and so they are going to make mistakes, especially since so many people are actively trying to tear them apart. Marcus knew he was a rebound but he proceeded anyway. He's a wonderful guy, but he's not the guy for Simon

I loved the scene with Felice and Wille. Their friendship is amazing. And Bryce is right, Wille got so much better at communicating this season. It felt kind of not right for Wille and Simon to kiss but I have a hard time calling it cheating either because Simon is clearly barely in the relationship with Marcus. And as already said, Marcus is such a Nice GuyTM. I may feel a little sorry for him getting hurt but he willingly stepped into their mess and refused to leave. I also liked the scene where Wille called Simon on not being able to accept him being of the Royal Family. Because while Simon had some very valid points for not continuing their relationship, the mess they are in is not solely on Wille.

I have a different take on the Simon/Marcus issue. I think it would be fair to be mad at Simon over it if the situation had been something like Wilhelm kicks Simon to the curb and Simon goes to Marcus to rebound, only for Wilheml to want him back. But that isn’t what happened. Marcus knew (or should have known) that Simon was in a holding pattern waiting for his own feelings to become clear. Wilhelm didn’t kick him to the curb, Simon kicked Wilhelm to the curb, and would have gone back in a second if Wilhelm had changed his mind about the secrecy bit. I think Marcus did it to himself.

I like how Marcus is open enough and comfortable enough to kiss Simon is public. Something that Wilhelm will never be able to do because of his status in the royal family. I think Marcus made some mistakes in moving to fast with Simon but ultimately he is a nice guy. I would like to see more intimacy betweenSimon and Marcus but I don’t think that will happen.
