This week on Forza Horizon 5, the Toyota Soarer makes its debut in the playlist for only 20 points. This release has stirred up some controversy, as many players believe it’s nothing more than a rebadged Lexus SC300-already available in the game. To explore whether this claim holds any truth, I took both cars for a detailed comparison, analyzing visuals, customization, and performance.
The results were more surprising than I expected. First, the Toyota Soarer features a unique model, with left-hand drive and a completely different engine-clearly showing the developers put in the effort to differentiate it. The customization options, however, are curious. The Lexus SC300 offers more variety, while the Soarer has fewer choices, despite them being nearly identical cars.
When it comes to performance, the contrast between the two is striking. The SC300 is balanced in its handling and upgrades, making it a solid all-rounder. In comparison, the Soarer is a true drift machine, with a lack of rear grip making it quite a challenge to control. With a 1JZ turbocharged engine pushing 276 horsepower stock, it offers a very different driving experience. And with upgrades, that engine can hit a staggering 1,000 horsepower-quite the beast.
In short, while both cars may seem the same on the surface, they provide two very different driving experiences. If you’re on the fence about the Toyota Soarer, I recommend giving it a try-you might just be surprised by how distinct it feels.
