Spidey’s eyes are different between the 2 heads The loose visor piece for Cyclops is his version of Wolverine’s “cowl down” accessory. Supposed to pair it with the glasses head so it looks like he’s pulled his visor down around his neck.

It's wild to me that people can claim to be a certain level of collector and can't pose a figure for shit 😮. These figures can hit any pose... They all look like they were pulled from the bottom of a tote. Also Venom is Carnages dad, not brother.

Yeah, I'm always rolling my eyes on social when I see people praise posing skills in photos. Then a friend of mine pointed out that posing is something I take for granted that I can pose... Which seems weird, but my friend can't do it if their life depended on it, and is one of those who is blown away if I can do a basic fighting stance, let alone an action pose that balances. Small wonder a This common joke in our hobby is that most people just use vanilla poses standing on a shelf. Takes all kinds in the hobby, I guess.

I think Mafex is worth it for most figures if you want a definitive figure. You can buy 5 different black suit Spider-man hoping Hasbro will finally after the same articulation and accessories as Mafex or you could just get the Mafex to begin with(if you can). Gambit may have some issues but Hasbro's offerings just do not compare. Though they need to work on the hand peg situation or at least offer spares. The only ones I don't have from the vid is Cyclops and Wolverine. Cyclops I think MVL did a good enough job and I just prefer the MVL version over Mafex. Wolverine, already have enough yellow Wolverines............I need that brown suit. Hush Batman, I think is going to lose some luster. First off we have Knightfall Batman for all the folks who prefer that look. Then Mafex showed off prototypes for two figures. One is a civilian Bruce Wayne which would come with enough heads to use on other Batman. The other is a Batman with the oval on a more Hush like body.

I agree Mafex is for the "definitive version" or your favorite character. It's nice having a Spidey and Cyclops and Gambit that fit in with Legends, but since the main/current/active DC line isn't yet inches, the Hush Mafex figures are kind of on an island.

I'm loving these comic Mafex lines. When the MCU was in full swing I figured the movie based characters from Mafex and SHF would be the best I could hope for, but then Mafex started banging out X-Men, Hush, Reign of the Supermen... man, this is feeling like a new golden age for comic collectors. I don't know if they ever get to him, but if Mafex announces an Apocalypse, I will preorder day 1 (although if Amazing Yamaguchi beats them to it, I'd be fine with that too).

I'm on my 4th Mafex, The 2 versions of Hush Batman, Nightwing and TDKR Batman. Sold all my Mcfarlane's and only kept Hush and Knightfall Batman. Pricey but totally worth it in my opinion, only complaint I have is that there is no Mafex Deathstroke and Talon!! Also really love how they scale with the Marvel Legends stuff since I collect some of those too.

I've had two Mafex Gambit's and both of the hands that have the peg for the card effects broke. You have to use the stand they provide to help support the card effect.

Maybe next time you use the Wolverine figure, you swap out the clawed hands and put them on the correct side? Seems pretty clear from the video that the left hand is on the right arm and the right hand was put on the left arm. It looks really terrible. :D

I own four Mafexs all the ones I've wanted: Jim Lee Magneto, Hush Batman (Black & Gray variant for the gargoyle stand), Nightwing, and Cyborg Superman. All of them are just AMAZING. I keep messing with Magneto, Batman, and Cyborg Superman given those damn capes are always fun to pose around. I'm content with the four but I might get the upcoming Rogue, and if they ever tackle it a Batgirl (Cassandra Cain).

Right now, the only Mafex figure I have is Bane Knightfall, just to FINALLY have a super-poseable Bane that scales properly with the rest of my 6-inch DC stuff. If the Knightfall Batman gets reissued in black and dark grey, or the brown-suit Wolverine gets reissued, we may be in business again.

I personally prefer amazing yamaguchi vs mafex when it comes to marvel for the most part. Mafex marvel figs are good but I don't like the coloring on the uniforms all the time aka Cyclops. Their DC figs...I dig a lil bit more over yamaguchi as they aren't as anime inspired face sculpt wise. I don't mind the anime inspired sculpts so much on their Marvel offerings. Go figure. However Flash and Zoom from yamaguchi...niceeeeee! I'm getting the re-released Deathstroke. Possible unpopular opinion but I think Mafex's catwoman is better then yamaguchi's unless u looking for some cheesecake in which case...go yamaguchi. Thanks for vid!

I only have Star Wars Mafex, and they do Mandolorian figures the best. Their original trilogy Boba Fett releases are still the best versions. Their QC has always been hit and miss, but more hit recently then not. For many other Star Wars figures I prefer the figuart versions.

My Gambit has the exact same problem with his hands. So disappointing when there is so much hype over a figure and then you can't even display them without the hands fall off. I currently am not even bothering with the massive card throwing effects until I have a bigger display area. Staff in one hand and card in the other for now.

I think the issue with your Gambit might be a one off OR something related to the newest batch. Maybe some mold degradation at play? But not all Mafex are great. They have issues like any other JP figs. Overall they are higher quality b/c of the paint and washes that bring out definition. QC wise though they are okay. Not amazing, not horrible. Just okay. I own quite a few Mafex and I'm like "meh" on most of them. My Knightfall Mafex Batman though...TOP TIER. One of the best figures I own hands down. I wish they would release it again in some paint variant colors like different comic pages were. It's just fantastic!

I recently got my first mafex, I got the john wick chapter 4 figure. it's pretty good though it coulda used better knee and ankle articulation. I do want to get the mandalorian 2.0 figure as well but he's getting a bit hard to find and pricey.

Something I've always wondered, Big Nerdy... and maybe you know. When they do a 're-run' of these figures, are they actually busting out all the same tooling, molds, paints, paint-masks and etc and packaging etc, and going to town? Or, are they assembling new figures from parts set aside from an earlier larger run they didn't assemble and ship? That is keeping in mind the figure is unchanged from the original... no fixes etc.

they’re pretty much remakes using the old tooling. the cool thing is, they actually upgrade the figures sometimes as well which makes the rereleases better. the rerun of 075 spider-man, for example, has significantly better paint colours because I guess they learned over the years how to do it better

I guess quality control is an issue with these. My first Mafex was the Huntress figure and ended up being my last. Like the Gambit, its hands just slid off. The neck joint was stuck to the head rendering the second head useless. The hair sculpt on the first head pressed against her back leaving no mobility for the neck. Finally her belt just fell apart. All that straight out of the box. 😢

I think the main things Mafex has on them at this point are soft goods and better paint. I think ML is closing the gap pretty well for being 1/4 the price. It's the DCMV side of things where it gets really sad.

I used to have a few Mafax figures (mostly Spider-Man and Batman), but I sold off most of them because I personally found the figures aren't worth the money, or deserving of all the hype they get. The hands and feet are too small, the wrist pegs are flimsy and easily breakable, the joints get loose quickly, and to top it off, they aren't much more posable than a Marvel Legends figure. Definitely not worth four times the price of Legends and McFarlane, IMO. You even proved my point in your video as you pointed out that your very expensive Gambit figure's hands kept falling off and you broke the wrist peg. Color me unimpressed.
