From the US national archives, airplanes are assembled: fuselage spacers and wing fillets are cut from wood, wing assemblies wired and covered, fuselage sections assembled and sanded, and tail and wing sections attached to the fuselage. Planes take off, do loops, and land.

The highest tech of its time! I read somewhere that constructing a WWI fighter took between 4,000 and 7,000 man hours and that the cost was equal to one of our modern stealth jets.

There's no way that's even close to true. You can work it out if you take the time but military tech today is several orders of magnitude more expensive(taking into account inflation) per unit than in early times of war such as WW1 or WW2.

Likely Johannisthal, Berlin, late 1916. Albatros D.II production with a D.III at 4:40 - also Albatros C.III at 5:15

The Albatros shown does not seem to have that small auxiliary lower wing strut added after wing failures.
