Are Trade Shows Worth It For Small Businesses? (Cost Revealed)

I recently attended my first trade show for my business beyondbraid.com. It was a pretty eye opening experience and in this video I talk about how much it costed me to attend iCast show in orlando AND IF ITS WORTH IT FOR NEW SMALL BUSINESSES TO ATTEND TRADESHOWS (Surprising results)
We ended up breaking even. So it cost about $10,000 to attend and we did about $10,000 in sales. We do have A LOT of leads to follow up with and did get good branding and content so over all I book this show as a win!

I agree, trade shows can be expensive. However, it takes planning to see what fits in your budget, if you'll reach your target market and the roi. I've been in tradeshows for about 10 years. I worked for a small family owned business (less than 20 employees). I generated over a million in sales per year. Our trade expenses ranged from $20 -$2,000.

Nice video, Interested in the return on this. I own a small (under 300k a year in revenue) metal stud framing company. I was curious if it’s be worth it to drop 5k or so on a local show.

I’m starting a cleaning business and focusing on commercial and residential there’s a small business expo in my city that comes every year I’m aiming at commercial clients when I’m there and/or consumers so just looking to see if it’s worth it now I’m seeing I’m not ready for this yet lol

before I watch that I know they are not worth it. Just did my first 2 trade shows on May and I got 0 clients, the only benefit is brand awareness.
