For that matter, What does my adherence to the Buddhist Suttas mean? Nothing. They are expressions of the truth, but by themselves they are not truth. Awakening myself. That is my goal. Hindu Religious Texts are mere road indicators. No Hindu text demands supreme authority like Bible or Quran. As Hinduism has a multitude of paths; there is a text for each path you follow. So if you are a seeker at any level of your consciousness (Chetana) you will find a path and a Hindu text supporting your path. Once again there is no fight for what you believe because your belief will change with the level of your consciousness (which is ever growing in nature).

Hindu traditions encourage personal seeking of truth/god. Personal experience of god/truth is the most important in life. Hindus belief there can be numerous ways to seek and experience the god. If you are a seeker then, your belief will change with the (Karma) experience of the world and time(Samsara). Unlike the three Abrahamic religions, Hindus are seeker of God , not believers of god. Hence a person’s belief is not at all important.

Mr Lakhani is a charismatic speaker, no question about it. He talks with a certain amount of rhythm, it almost feels like poetry in flow. BUT he never seems to answer the question in a straight manner. He beats about the bush and pussyfoots around the issue and almost smudges the question asked with all the good words and expressions in the Collins dictionary. Such a great evasion technique it's not even funny. I must learn this !

If god is the agent of perfection, then Rig Veda is the word of god. if the 320 pairs of muscles in our body isometrically contrast (harden) and relax (soften) synchronously, we get a feeling that our muscular system is, in fact, a single muscle. In Hinduism, it is called Purusha (Rig Veda 1.10.90). The composer of the Rig Vedic mantras must have unified his muscular system. Then the mantra would be independent of time, place and person.

I am not entirely convinced. It seems that u walk away from d real question - That why vedas are, and always been so important in Hindu tradition? Also, Upanishads are referred to as commentary on Vedas. But I don't see any relevant connection between d two. The two classes of text seems to be in sharp contrast intellectually!

But to some commentries written in upanishads is justifying or trying to justify the rituals in philosophical or logical way, cz as society grew they started getting against ritualism and reform occurs in form of upanishads many rituals of vedas are totaly denounced in upanishads but some given philosophical aspect.

Yes, it does. The core of sanatan dharma (or popularly known as hinduism) is very individualized principles of Dharma and Karma.. There is no set rules.. For example, lying is bad as a principle, but lying to save an innocent life is not. But who dictates somebody is innocent or not. it is your concience that can be the judge.. There is no bigger misery than guilt. Its all very simple yet very complicated. But at least who yearn to learn are better off than those who blindly believe or ignore..

I'll give you the answer. The Vedas are the word of God... But... They unfortunately got corrupted with time. In the Bhagvad Gita Krishna said that I gave the knowledge of the Vedas to Surya (Son of Aditi and a Solar deity one of many) and he passed it on to Manu (the first intelligent Man from him itself the word Man comes from) and Manu passed it on to Iksavasu (third son of Manu). He also said that the message of the Vedas has become corrupted with time but you can still understand it if u expand to many spiritual books including Bhagvad Gita, रामायण, and many others this way u can eliminate any errors or lapses in information but also know that the other books will only help u fill in the gaps but still the Vedas are the largest piece so one must read it fully and if u are going to use your limited sense of logic to try fill in the gaps don't read any of it. Word of God means word of God. The only logic u will need to apply is when two sentences counter each other. Then say his name and choose one u will probably get the right one. The alternative method would be to just sit in meditation and say his name. He will reveal everything to u then but it'll be much harder.

For any knowledge/GYAAN, there has to be a root source. No Root, no stem and no leaves/fruits- plain and simple! If you believe in God/Parmaatmaa, you automatically believe in Soul/Aatma and then you define Aatma is never dying and hence keeps on flowing eternal from one body to another among sfferings. All this universe is a YAGYA by Paramaatma for Aatma/souls to liberate from this cycle of trans-migrations! The supreme judge has to lay down rules for Souls on how to reach the goal of liberation! In other words, The one who has created universe so wisely must have also created Constitution as well- very logical| The VEDas are nothing but the Constituion of Parmaatma for Aatmas to follow. If a new borne does not get any knowledge form birth, he will never understand spiritual wisdom. Hence VEDas are root knowledge given by Ishwar into hearts/soul of 4 Rishis at start of every creation! Since then it is being passed on by Rishis as Smiriti. वेद का ज्ञान सृष्टि के आदि में परमात्मा ने अग्नि , वायु , आदित्य और अंगिरा - इन चार ऋषियों को एक साथ दिया था । वेद मानवमात्र के लिए हैं ।

In this way "God" is in continuous conversation with the creation, revealing all the truths and secrets of the universe . Its not a one time deal with a chosen prophet. Enlightened people have tried to pass on those self realised truths through various expressive ways. If you seek truth you have to understand that as evolving humans we have limited ways of expressing. So its not whether they are the Words of God but rather that in them, there are shimmers of the eternal truths which a true seeker will easily find. One more thing , you have to be an atheist in heart only then can you find the meaning of God , the creation and the universe. Atheism has consolidated my Hindu beliefs and made me understand Hinduism better.

Monzur Rahman Brother , Vedas dont have any tenets or laws for people to follow, and it is collection of hymns which praise the god.They are attributed to different Rishis ( learned men) .In the Vedic religion GOD is not a dictator, He/SHE never says He/SHE is the only GOD , also there is no punishment if you pray to anyone else. In fact a famous portion called Nasadiya sukta hints at the creation of Universe even before the Gods ! it will be difficult to comprehend for you because in Islam you have to stress that it is GOD's word hence perfect,it is based on the principle of Christianity before it and Judaism which have the same concept that GOD sends a messenger.However Vedic religion and all other religion of the East ( Taoism,etc ) focus more on simplicity and allow everyone to create their own conscience which becomes inclusive eventually as it is flexible and hence timeless.

Jesus did many many things that were not written down because people got fed up of concocting his story ad nauseous. Of course Jesus also died for your sins. Since the Jesus tale is one of fabrication as said by Christian historians themselves he couldn't have died on any cross as he never lived. Excellent. First of all what is so special about word of God? What worldly language does God Speak? Why did not God did not give us Quantum Mechanics, Robotics, Internet of Things but these Religious Scriptures? See the problem is with fundamentalists and not with Hindu God or Gods. Vedas are called Apourusheyas does not mean not written by Humans but instantaneously and unvolunterily conceived and envisaged by sages whom we call Rishis. Purush and Rush are essential of opposite psychologies in nature. Thus clear answer is Vedas are human works thus useful for Humanity and the Creation. Hindus have Gutts to say this truth snd we are never been ostracised gor this unlike in Islam and orthodoxic Christianity.

Clearly he said Upanishads are words of enlightened people. It is way believable than some angel and messenger and hell and heaven. Down the line , we all know all religions are man made. Why not accept it ??? Are humans that dirty and immoral that they cannot experience Brahman...? Why do we always need these superhuman messengers...?
