Being able to think quickly in tough scenarios, spacial awareness, resource management, team building and leadership, emotional intelligence through story telling and character building, empathy. And i thought of these while im half awake.

If you actually use these skills IRL, yes.

@GameQuitters so what is your claim? Because the people who "all they do is game" is not a very large majority, and the ones who are socially awkward usually have a reason outside of video games; they play games BECAUSE they're socially awkward, they are on the spectrum, they have a job that already keeps them home and on a computer. I understand that there are some people out there who are genuine troglodytes and they need a psychiatric eval. for possible depression and anxiety, but dont say that there arent positive associations with gaming and then just bypass my list of counter points

Maybe you should wake up. All these skills are learnable in the real world. How are you going to overcome difficulties in life when the hardest situation you've ever been in was 1v5 clutch in cs:go. It doesn't take much leadership skills to yell at the screen to rush b either. No idea what you mean by resource management, maybe knowing how to manage 2 bottles of coke and a pack of doritos on your desk to last you your whole gaming session.

I legit learned English because of the GTA games lol. My uncle would sit beside me and tell me what to do and what they mean when they talk in English. Good old days. Still, gaming does interfere with my studies and it is something I need to learn.

Few of my friends and I are the best in our baseball team and it's tried and tested (even empirically) we got the coordination from 3D shooter games.

@@Roberthopps-wx1mt He's not "jealous", I see his point. Most people don't play games for the skills they learn, they do it for fun, and will only use their skills *for* the game instead of wherever they can apply them in real life.

@@doddermodd He doesn't have a point. He's literally whining over a hobby that people have a passion for just because he can't control himself. You really need to broaden your hold on common sense.

@@Roberthopps-wx1mt "Because he can't control himself"? Video game addiction is an increasingly large issue, game companies nowadays even tend to hire psychologists to inform them on how to make their games more addictive. Not all, but lot of a games are designed to be inherently addictive like porn is.

Gaming for years developed an ability to quickly make decisions and thrive under pressure. Stay organized and multitask very effectively. Not only too have good reflexes and hand to eye coordination in real time. But the ability to build muscle memory and repitiion faster. And the confidence to know i can learn to do it efficiently relatively quickly. I know it's not the case for everyone. But can't say it makes someone unable or incapable of them bringing it into other areas of there life👍

The negative effects of gaming far outweigh the benefits by a lot. Anyone who says otherwise is trying to cope hard
