This is exactly what I do! I’ve always taken notes in the margins, I’ve always made a little note of what was going on in my life in the front of the book before I started it and I’ve always made a note in the back of the book of what I thought about the book, a mini review of sorts. Who knew that Bill Gates does the same thing! By the way, my wife always gets crazy that I write all through my books. She has to keep everything very clean and organized, no writing, no dog ears, etc. Definitely sharing this video with her ha ha

I read a lot too, almost always non fiction. But in so many cases, I never read a book in it's entirety, simply because I look for specific chapters, ideas and insights, and once I have found what I seek, or get a pretty good idea of what the book is trying to accomplish, I stop reading. He is seen as mostly non-partisan and as the quintessential billionaire. (He does have views on wealth inequality that may be described as progressive, but in my view he is very much a capitalistic-minded person and he doesn't lean too much in any one ideological direction). Compared to all the really famous American billionaires (Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Ellison, Michael Bloomberg, etc.) he seems to have little to no political ambitions. He is a major figure in reforming the U.S. primary education system (but he hasn't been effective). Similar to Steve Jobs, Bill Gates is known to be a businessman that will do anything to succeed (you can look up his relationship with Paul Allen for more on that). Overall, he isn't a very public figure (in contrast to Steve Jobs who had more of a public persona and is still held in overly gratuitous admiration by the American public at large) and that may have started in 2000 when he stepped down from his role as CEO of Microsoft and stayed as the chairman of its board of directors. He is a public figure in American society, but he appears to purposely keep a balance so as to not be too public.

Watching inside bills brain on Netflix, you realize just how much of a bookworm he is by the bag he carries around with him, pre picked / packed by his assistant. His reading list is very broad. I think a proficient reader can go a lot faster with paper than an e-book or an audio book, and information absorption will be much higher.
@Petaurista134 жыл бұрын
Can, but don't want to. I can actually read far faster than I do (proven on one class test during studies when I've got highest mark while needing less than half time we had (one whole page was just long text with gaps so I've done it in no time), but I don't find it pleasurable.

Nemo TheEight depends on the content IMO: I don’t read much fiction, but when I do i would want to read slowly to enjoy, I read autobiography’s mostly for facts and self improvement, I generally speed through the drawn out stories and to the crux of each learning. A number of autobiography’s literally repeat the 1st chapter multiple times too.
