Needing to always be “ahead” really resonated with me. I often feel like if I’m not ahead or on top of things that it means that I’m failing… but you’re right, I don’t know want to whither away at the pond. great episode, thank you ❤

Kalyn, I just want to say thank you for the feels you create with your content. I've been going through a really lonely transition in my life and your channel has been my constant for almost a decade now (whaaaaatttt?!), and while everything else feels upside down and inside out, I'm especially grateful to have this cozy, familiar space to rest with. Your videos are one of the types of art I lean into when I need the comforts of a home and family I don't have. I know it won't stay like this forever, but in the cold depression mornings and the abyss of bathroom floor nights, knowing there's a coffee talk I can play with a soothing voice and a reminder of the kinds of friendships and interactions I know are in my future is a saving grace. You really do light up the dark.

This video hit home! I find myself wondering the same so many times! We speak of 'narcissists' low-key using it as a slur almost; but aren't we all showing a little bit of our narcissistic side everyday on social media? We all paint these perfect images of ourselves and anything less than that makes us cringe. It's a delusion but a bittersweet one at that. Because the tricky part is that it really adds so much value to our lives. Someone else's 'perfect' on social media might inspire me to better myself and achieve or it could break my spirit. It's a double-edged sword!

If you find it strange that December is still autumn, imagine for us Brazilians-it’s spring and the start of summer! We even buy fake snow for our decorations, and our Santa Clauses nearly pass out from the heat. In the end, Christmas becomes a family gathering that feels more like a summer barbecue, especially when we celebrate it during lunch on the 25th! 😂

Kalyn I’ve been watching your videos for what feels like a decade. It’s so incredible to see how far you’ve come. I feel like we’d be best friends in another lifetime ❤ I love what you said on preparedness. Safety and trust. I self sabotage by procrastinating which keeps me from being prepared and keeps me in this unsafe fight or flight mode. Like I’m addicted to the chaos of unpreparedness 🤔preparedness is about maintaining control it seems. But perhaps if you feel like you can’t control a situation it manifests in learned helplessness. can you link the core needs wheel you referenced?

It's not a fall month to me. Dec, Jan, Feb is winter. March, April, May is spring. June, July, Aug is summer. Sept, Oct, Nov is fall. Maybe I invented it? 🤔 I like my version! 😁

It's so cute when you look at Landon and start smiling right up ❤ I can't wait to decorate for christmas 🎄🎄 A kind of narcistic is healthy but to much is not good. But where is the borderline. Hi Kalyn🤍Thank you for this thought-provoking discussion. This video couldn’t have come at a better time for me. About a year ago, I opened a KZbin channel (and hopefully, at some point, it will pay my bills too because, like you, I love creating content so much!). I really struggle to explain this passion to those around me, so hearing you say that you still, even after all these years, sometimes struggle to explain it made me feel less alone (so here is another reminder of how meaningful your content is💛and another person to tell you that-yes! you being here makes us feel less alone🙏🏻). It’s true-somehow, I feel safer sharing my life online and more like myself here than I sometimes do in my offline life. Connecting with like-minded people and forming deep, meaningful connections warm my heart and give me so much energy. That said, I completely relate to what you mentioned about feeling prepared and constantly trying to stay ahead of the game. I feel this way so often on my own journey. Even today, I was extremely hard on myself for not being prepared for next week’s content. This video was such a beautiful reminder to live in the moment, trust that what’s meant for us won’t pass us by, and just 'be' instead of getting swept away by the hustle. Thank you for that and I wish for us both to embrace this mindset more often than not🫶🙏🏻

As far as seasons go, it depends on where you live. The only area in which the seasons change on the 21st is at the mid point of the northern hemisphere. That line goes through Calgary, Alberta, CA, and London, EN. And even so, it's not like it changes abruptly. Change is most often gradual.

I think purposes plays into it though. Like, I’ve made connections on social media and then instead of checking their page, I go through my own page seeing it through their eyes. That’s narcissism. When you’re looking at your own page contemplating the seasonal vibe you want to create for your followers to experience, that’s business.

I also think the comparison you’re making is a little hard on yourself. The story of Narcissus is that he fell in love with a reflection of himself. When you’re viewing your social media, it’s not the image of yourself that you’re admiring. It’s the whole creation, it’s the artwork that was born of you. We would never call ourselves narcissists for gazing admiringly at our children, even though they are reflections of ourselves. I think our artwork should be considered similarly.
