Having accepted a dream job in engineering we moved to upstate New York! We had not however investigated the property taxes difference between Ohio and NY in 1970. Hence, we bought a derelict of a house (1890). The taxes were 5 times those in Ohio. We spent most of our 11 years there working on some part of the house. Glen was a mechanical and industrial engineer. I still have fond memories of our “yellow submarine”. Two of our three girls were born there. Thank goodness he was a master woodworker as a hobby. And able to keep our cars on the road.
