Adam's skeptical reaction to Jay's enthusiasm is always fun. Jay is like a four-year old telling his dad (Adam) all about trains and Dad-am is like "yes, that's very cool, we'll go see some trains." It's great and it's one of many reasons why I love you guys :)

Two things - it's kind of weird that people are upset at the music selection. Trailer music isn't in the film generally. It kind of mirrors what you have now with fancams where someone will put modern music on a period piece from centuries ago. These things are all over TikTok & Insta - it kind of works on that. But I also think they gave away too much in the trailer.

The only reason I am watching this is for Denzel Washington, who could potentially make Oscar history should he get nominated for this. If nominated, he will become only the 3rd ever male actor (and the 6th person overall) to receive 10 acting nominations. He will tie Sir Laurence Olivier as the 2nd most nominated actor ever and put him only behind 12-time nominee Jack Nicholson.

At this point, big, dumb, and loud is all I really want in a Gladiator sequel-as long as it is also entertaining. Don’t really care if the script is terrible or not. At any rate, I would be hugely disappointed if this movie wasn’t *far* more entertaining than the last Ridley Scott movie I saw in the theater: Napolean. What an absolute pantload of boredom that was.

The thing is, I'm afraid they used a Nero or Caligula typ of emperor for this movie, while in reality their reign was a few hundred years before the events of the first Gladiator and this is already a little bit iffy imho, but we will wait and see. If they stay in a more or less historical timeline the emperors would have been Septimus Severus and his son Caracalla and neither were as insane as the two mentioned above. I know it is onyl a movie but things like a massive historical inacuracy is a pet peeve of mine, sorry.

The tone of the movie doesn't fit an historical epic like the first one, it feels kind of cheap like a "clash of titan" level Z movie , it feels off because of some cheapness and having over the top exagerrated action. (rhino) this tries to top the first one in all the unecessary sections, and for all the bad reasons.
