You did it, “a worthwhile 10 minute video on this topic !” There were a number of great ideas and notable common failures. Guilty here on over feeding and using the wrong schedule. I’d add on auto feeders that using them all the time deprives one of the positive interaction of feeding time. Thanks again, Jim

Great video Matthew, as always. Your comment on Blue Chromis feeding I learned from a previous video you did as well. They have been doing great for two months now! Multiple feedings a day

My tank is natural from Tampa Bay. I took the stuff that I scraped off my boat bottom and put it in the tank. It had been several years so I had lots of stuff LOL. Barnacles and oysters became my favorite pets. I caught 5 green back sardines really tiny ones with my cast net. They are now over 4 in Long. After two years in the tank going through all kinds of extremes. Including emptying the tank transporting the whole thing for hundred miles inland and resetting it up again with purchased Coral sand. I still have Barnacles that are alive and feeding today. 2 years old and the tank have only five fish. I've experimented with what Barnacles and oysters like to eat. Milk! Yes just a little cup full of milk and all the filter feeders go crazy trying to grab every bit of it all those little fat globules and sugars. I was told you can't keep Barnacles alive in a small tank

Holy cow. So different from freshwater fish - I used to just do flakes/pellets daily and sometimes blackworms weekly, much simpler. Do you think I'll need to have a small mini fridge/freezer just to store enough food for my anticipated 72-80 saltwater gallon tank?

My clown harem gets auto fed 4X2 a day then I feed eggs and frozen when I get home. Keeps them calm and not killing each other so it is well worth the extra water changes I do a week to keep the babies happy.

Need help, Hey Matthew, I have a 75 gal saltwater all-fish tank, But I have two hang on the back filters that cycle 500 GPH, I keep the water temp, at 78.9 and the SCh at 1.023. It's been 2 weeks now since I set it up, I'm waiting 60 days before adding any fish to the tank. I also saw one of your videos about building a quarantine tank, so I built a 10-gal tank. I made it simple, a 10-gal tank with a small hang-on-the-back filter that cycles 300 GPH, and a heater with some Pvc in the tank, My question is for the 75-gal tank would the two hang-on-the-back filters be efficient enough for the tank? Please advise.

For the coral skeleton feeding method, will that train the fish to think that coral is food and would go after coral polyps?
@BulkReefSupply3 жыл бұрын
It does depend on the species. Some fish should really be kept in a fish only environment or with corals that aren't a part of their natural diet.

Shoot! I just got a tank from someone that overdid it and has tons of green algae for my work office tank and I’m not there everyday 😅. I was thinking I was going to feed every other day like my freshwater tank. I’m going to have to figure something out. My wife won’t let me bring another tank home . There’s 2 clownfish, coral beauty, and a yellow watchman with a pistol shrimp and a coral bandit shrimp

Great video. I think there is way too much focus on the theory of feeding and not enough practical. What’s in the tank? What is being fed? How much? How often? What’s the export controls? Everyone seems scared of the community calling them out for showing how they do it.
