I am a Catholic, as well. I was very happy and appreciative of your response on Catholicism. I have had similar experiences to your viewer's comment. It's very sad and insulting sometimes, to not be recognized as being part of a good Christian organization. Thank you, Sarah. ❤

I'm with you! I once had a Baptist minister tell me, in front of the whole congregation no less, that I was going to hell because I'm Catholic. It made me so leary of other religions. I love Sarah and family because they aren't judgmental.

You're not. Catholics have anti-Biblical beliefs so.....that's why we don't call you Christians, you are traditionalists like the Pharisees but even the Pharisees weren't evil enough to think a man can forgive sins. You guys are heavily deceived.

Can we all see that you need to live your life, love your family, raise them with what you believe. Difference in religion and judgment historically causes hate and wars Love yourselves and others❤

Hi Sarah. As a lifelong Catholic I’m so happy to hear you speak about your Friends/ neighbors who are Catholic. So many Christians tend to bash us and find so much fault in our religion. We all believe in the same God who created us and we all believe that his Son our Lord Jesus Christ is our redeemer and our Savior. We are all Children of God. Brother’s and Sisters in Christ. Many blessings to you and your family. ❤️

The thing is we are all Christian since we all believe in Jesús Christ. Just evengelics decided to use the term as their own. Its a shame the bashing is judging and the bible says we should not judge. I was raised catholic, but today don't identify with any "branch" I see faults and good things in all. So what I do is only give thanks for the much or little I have. S

@@ljvann11 Ur comment was out of line, very judgemental. Kinda like picking bitter fights. Let everyone follow their own beliefs. No religion is perfect, no one knows which is the true religion and if we go by the Bible we are all in the wrong... Matthew 5:17 Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. If we take that into consideration we all should just have stayed Jewish.

We had our kids "busy" doing household chores very young. It was harder for me to teach them to do things than to just do it myself, but I took the time to teach them. Our children are grown and gone from home, but when they do come, everyone still pitches in after a meal or before they go home to straighten up our home so I'm not left with all the work when they leave. It's a REAL blessing to know they are considerate of others. Your family is precious, Sarah.

I look on it as ‘teaching’ them to look after themselves when you are no longer here. Once they’ve been taught what to do it should be easier for them to do it more often…you help them in some ways - they help you back. My D.I.L was born & lived in China till her very late teens, her parents worked quite a way from home & didn’t get back from work till nearly 10 pm every evening so my D.I.L & her sister were EXPECTED to keep the house clean, cook themselves a meal & clean up afterwards & do the weekly Laundry from the age of 10, so my daughter-in-law also expects my Granddaughter to do the same as she goes out to work, although gets back earlier than her parents did. My Granddaughter puts her own washing in the machine & takes it out & puts it to dry. She also fills & empties the dishwasher & is expected to keep her bedroom tidy. She is 13 & says she is the only one of her friends that is expected to help at home. All I can say is, more fool those parents as they’re not doing their children any favours in preparing them for adult-hood by doing it all for them.

When my SIL was dating my daughter he thought she should not have mow the lawn. We are a family of all females I have been divorced for several years. We took turns mowing the lawn. So before I got up work my to be son-in-law would come by and mow the lawn before I got work for months before I knew. And he thought it was wrong of me to expect my daughters to do that. My daughters are not perfect but they are functioning adults That can keep house and a sense of responsibility and ownership.

The TRINITY is not a BIBLE teaching! There is ONE GOD , GOD ALMIGHTY , His FIRST CREATION was the ARC ANGEL , MICHAEL , whom GOD refers to as His ONLY BEGOTTEN SON , when GOD caused the immaculate conception (pregnancy) he instructed MARY , the child's human mother, and JOSEPH , his soon to be father, to name the child JESUS . The HOLY SPIRIT , or holy ghost, as many Christians refer to it, is GOD'S ACTIVE FORCE . HE uses it to accomplish WHATEVER HE WISHES . GOD COMMANDS THAT FORCE HIMSELF , HE ALLOWS HIS TRUSTED SON JESUS CHRIST TO USE THAT FORCE WHENEVER HE SEES FIT , but THAT FORCE DOES NOT COMMAND ITSELF ! The trinity is NEVER taught in the Bible. There are no THREE GOD"S but ONE. To WORSHIP anything else is BLASPHEMY!

My dad was Catholic & my mom Baptist. I grew up attending both churches nearly every Sunday. I also attended private Baptist school for many years, in addition to Awanas, VBS, and youth groups. I was in church a lot. I have found over the years and the multitude of churches I attended that the Catholic church was always welcoming no matter your religious affiliation. They honestly did not look at you as "less". I could never say that about the Baptist churches we attended. They viewed Catholics as practically cult like. or evil. Yes, some aspects are different, but the core values, the basic beliefs, are the same. I left both churches and attended Episcopalian for many years until I had children and decided to send them to Catholic school. Best decision I ever made. One of my children is even a teacher at a large Catholic school in our area. My children had cell phones early (around 12) because they attended school an hour from home, and often had after school activities, and I needed a way to reach them, but internet was restricted, phones were put on charge in the kitchen at night, and there were parental restrictions on the internet. They were also given responsibility. Daily chores, and weekly. When they went to college laundry, house cleaning, and budget shopping was nothing new to them. Love your channel, and how real you are.

When I was 18 with siblings ages 16, 14 and 12, my parents left for a week to visit relatives. I was working full time and the others were in school. My mother left written instructions on how to use the washing machine. She never made us do chores. However, since we grew up in a clean house we all keep clean houses. I made my kids do their own laundry at age 11. That helped so much.

I think every generation thinks the same. I raised 8 sons and 1 daughter (she was a middle child). Each one learned to wash their clothes at age 9 and we gave them responsibilities. When one went to college, he was the one training all the kids how to wash and take care of their clothes. I also had one in the military that got along with other easily. I believe your story! Even back in the day when children were expected to do chores there were some who could only think of Oliver Twist or Cinderella. On and off, we go through periods in which there seems to be a societal perspective that asking kids to do chores let alone be responsible for a chores task is akin to child abuse; all household "work" is seen to be the responsibility of the mother.

It's good for children to question things about religion. It helps the parents to know what the children are thinking and their level of religious maturity. These questions can help parents to stop misunderstandings and know if the outside world is trying to warp the child's common sense and logic processing.

I’m so sick of people thinking if you’re a Christian you don’t have a love for all people. They are not separate things in fact we’re called to love everyone! Like all groups we’re humans and not everyone does the right thing. However we can love all people and not agree with their lifestyles. 💜

I also needed my children to pitch in with chores. I had three teenage girls and was pregnant when my husband passed away, the shock of which put me in premature labour. I knew I would need to work as insurance money does not go far so it was hard for my daughters but as a family we needed to come together to keep our family of five afloat. My children all became proficient at anything in and around the house and are now all very capable parents themselves. I think you do a fantastic job Sarah. Growing up we had a C of E minister who believed in experiencing all religions so during bible study we took many trips to local places of worship and I loved it. I love your vlogs, chaotic sometimes or whatever. Your little ones are adorable. Can’t believe how much Seth has grown lately. Xxxxx

Hi Sarah, My husband and I have been watching your beautiful family for some time now. This video with the Catholic question just made me love you even more. I am Catholic and came from a large family. I’ve had a few siblings leave the faith and look upon us as “unsaved”. So much damage and hurt occurred and divided the family for years. So, when you answered the Catholic question with such Grace and truth it truly touched me with tears. Thank you for explaining that we are christians and you believe you will see your Catholic friends in heaven. My respect and admiration soared higher then I thought possible. The Holy Spirit guides us in discernment and truth. I homeschooled my one son and never regretted it. By our fruits we are known and you and your family produce a beautiful garden. ~ Donna

I remember my son telling me he would HIS dishes and I i could wash the ones I made.... making him dinner.... His response was "I didn't ask you to make dinner!". I'll let you guess how that worked out for him.

As the middle child of nine kids,I had lots of chords to do. When I lived as an adult I knew how to do so many things my friends didnt. Chores should be part of a child's life. As a Roman Catholic I appreciate the positive response. I love to discuss religion with all walks of life. A good friend was a Buddhist monk. So I'm open to everyones faith.

I am a Catholic, when our daughter was in 1st year high school she lean't about other faiths. She is very inclusive of others whatever their faith. During our bad Firesign 2019 and floods recently both the Sieks and Muslam charities were away first there giving aid and comfort. I have many friends different faiths which always amazes me how similar we all are. I always advised to have an open mind.

Sara I’ve only gotten a few minutes into the video but right away wanted to comment on the first question, about feeling guilty asking kids to help. I was most definitely “overused and abused” as a child. However, as a mom of 8, going on 9, I have a very different outlook on having my kids help. We are also a homeschooling family. So kids are home with me 24/7. My take on living together, as a large family (but truly any size family), is that our home is our community. This is how I present it to the children. It is not “my house” and it’s not just “their” house. It is OUR house, and we all have to share the space. We need to learn how to respect the space and respect one another’s time in it. So what I’ll use as an example with the kids is, “if Daddy and I spread our things all over the table, or living room, and refused to clean up or put our belongings away, then you wouldn’t be able to utilize those spaces. If we demanded you not touch our things, it would not be fair, because then you couldn’t have a turn in those spaces. Therefore, when they spread their toys out, or crafts out on the table, it is their responsibility, when they’re done, to clean it up and make room for someone else to have a turn in that space. It’s the same with dishes, or if someone prepares food. They need to clean the space or clean the dishes, so that they are ready for the next person to use. So far, with age appropriateness in mind, they all seem to understand and respect this perspective. I feel this also is helping mold them into being empathetic humans later in life and within our community, as well.
New Addition!!!
