Reversing some of the Beeching cuts of 1964 across the country would pave the way to improving public transport and reduce rail overcrowding. Maybe making rail travel attractive again.
But it’s not the late 1840’s the advent of train travel nor the peak of the early 1900’s - were certainly not using coal and water and nor is the current Government keen on dirty diesels for our future. Originally the railway’s infancy grew inline with a population and industry hand in hand but in today's modern Britain its poles apart. There are many communities crying out for a railway.
