This is def one of the goat closer seasons by Clase. He’s allowed only 4 runs all year. That’s unbelievable.

I looked at just his basic stats this morning & was really surprised by him having fewer Ks than innings pitched given that he’s 1) a closer and 2) throws 100mph. Not being a big strikeout guy with that kind of stuff and dominating in his own way is pretty dope.

R.I.P Jimmy Buffett, I'm a Karaoker just like you guys and Margaritaville always starts the party off right in the Carribean. Late to the party on the show, but recently started watching, " Your Honor" where Mariano Rivera was mentioned as being the greatest closer in the history of the game. Now this topic of conversation has come up on here a time or 2 recently. Gotta love the Matrix!

Here's my early comment (I haven't even finished watching the video yet). Personally I'd say number 2 to Rivera would be Gagné.
@jasonkohler27035 ай бұрын
Just off the top of my head: Eck 1990, Gagne 2003, Kimbrel 2012, and Britton 2016 were all better. And it only takes one off night before he's out of the conversation completely.

You should make an entire video on Cleveland’s bullpen there dominance is unmatched. I mean - Tim Herrin 2.25 ERA - Hunter Gaddis 1.43 ERA - Cade Smith 2.02 ERA - Emmanuel Clase 0.64 ERA If thy have the lead after 6 it’s basically game over

He's having a great run, but until someone saves as many games as K-Rod and Thigpen I'm not saying they had a greater season than those guys
@PitchingNinjaVideos5 ай бұрын
Saves depends on close games for your team which is out of a closer's control. K-Rod's ERA in his 62 save season was 2.24. Clase's is 0.64. And he's only thrown 12 innings less than K-Rod threw that entire season. It's not terribly close re who was more effective.... Clase's ERA + is 660 (with just over 4 hits per 9). K-Rod's was +192 with over 7 hits per nine. Clase's given up 4 ers all year....K-Rod gave up 17 that season.
@TAPSiS.5 ай бұрын
@@PitchingNinjaVideos. Can he get 5 straight saves is the real question.
@danr1545 ай бұрын
umm yes. yes he can. He can easily rattle off more than 5 in a row. He has saved the last 4 games in 4 consecutive days. Do not sit andact like K-rod went 5 days in a row. No he didnt. Oh Im sure at least once he might have but nooo dude I watched his career too and they didnt let closers go 5 days in a row in that era...

He's not in the same realm as Emmanuel Clase. Not close. Helsley is having an excellent season. But Clase is having a historic season and nearly 500 better ERA+ (653 to 160)
