Arsenal fans convinced themselves that man city was the only team better than them. If man city had a bad season then arsenal shoud win by default. They forgot about the team that has actually defeated man city in the league, UCL & FA Cup. Even last season Liverpool were favorites to win the league at one point. Didn't happen but now we have a new hungry manager and young hungry players that want to win the league. So, We are not going anywhere. Liverpool is 1 of the top clubs in the world. They forgot they were only outperforming Liverpool for the following reasons: 22/23 - Liverpool were adjusting to life without Mané and the entire midfield lost their legs. Fabinho, Henderson, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Keita had generational, but understandable drop-offs (due to age, and running themselves into the ground to reach 3 finals and missing out on the league by 1 point the season before) 23/24 - Klopp was essentially working with a new team and adjusting tactics to their strengths. The midfield was all new and the attack was adjusting to the absence of Firmino, who had been a linchpin for nearly a decade. Plus AFCON years always hurt Liverpool more than other title contenders due to Salah being so crucial to their attack. 24/25 - Now we're seeing the result of Klopp's vision and rebuild. Slot's perfect transition is a little surprising, but people shouldn't be shocked that Liverpool are doing so well.

Exactly the same thing happened in the 2022-23 season. Liverpool lost the previous season by 1 point, at 90+points. Liverpool struggled, City was a bit underperforming, and as a Liverpool fan i was a bit anoyed by arsenal being top of the league.
