Hey James, hi Robert, you guys probably won't see this. But I really want to thank you both. I have PTSD and I've been struggling to take care of myself because of it (certain trauma can make you feel gross and like you don't deserve to feel nice). But through a combination of therapy and watching your channels, I've been slowly working skincare and makeup into my routines as a form of self care. It's a small step, and probably not the self care one I should take first, but it's really helping my mood and confidence. And I wanted to say thanks. They had me cracking up on the first question bc I live in WA. "I think it's cold and snowy and has mountains...and trees..." yep summed up a large portion haha, esp in winter. Also things to check off: rivers, lakes, valleys, meadows, temperate rainforest, the ocean, amazing people and some of the most beautiful scenery you will ever lay your eyes upon. Sometimes it feels almost like a religious/spiritual experience just staring at Mt. Rainier from a distance and knowing it's incomprehensably mammoth. The old growth forests with trees 30ft wide at the trunk base (not exactly sure, but fucking gigantic). The trees grow to 200ft. It just makes you feel like a tiny little ant. When Bella rides on Edward's back and there's a panned shot of them standing in the trees looking out over a river, that exact spot is in the Columbia River Gorge about 20min from where I live. About to move the to mountains in Virginia soon :) (almost the farthest I could move from where I am now) excited to experience a completely different type of forest & mountains. I missed cicadas. Ik that sounds strange bc they can be so loud but there's something about the hum in the background of thousands of horny bug bois tryna get their dick wet 😂 I grew up in Oklahoma and moved to Washington when I was 20. Best decision ever. Being a leftist in the most conservative state was torture. Oklahoma is the only state where every county votes conservative, even the county with our college town for University of Oklahoma in Norman, just south of Oklahoma City. Very creative naming ik🙄🤷🏼♀️😂 so it just never felt like my *home*. When I got to Washington, I felt like I was *home*. That felt nice :) Now I'm 27 with lots of chronic health problems and can't afford to live here. We will have to go without centeql heat bc we have an oil heater and prices are based on all oil prices so recently it was almost $400 to fill the tank 1/4 of the way, the minimum they allow you to get, and that only lasts 6 weeks if we're lucky. Genuinely just switching to space heaters and heating blankets. It'll be cheaper. Wish me luck for the winter 😭😭😭

@@Julia-qk2wj Indeed 💯. Most of the people doesn't even know what Finland is and if they do, they think that it's like full of polar bears and Finland belongs to Russia or something like that 🤣🤣. Smh🤦♀️

this test seems to be both geography (countries, states, maps of the train station etc) and geology (glaciers, mud, layers of the planet etc) all mixed up. are they taught together in england?

I'm not from the UK but we were once a colony of theirs so we adapted a lot of their institute structures, one of which was education. There two types of schools in my country: One of them is where they teach you Geography, History and Social Studies separately and the other is where they teach you all of them integrated into one subject called Environmental Studies. In both situations Geography covers interior of Earth, the solar system, soil, the levels of rocks, agriculture, oceans, climate change, the weather (how to read it, natural disasters, and types), etc. We don't have Geology and Environmental Studies is compulsory, but we can further our studies by choosing any of the three subjects in much more detail. This counts as a separate exam so you'll have one for Environmental Studies with all students of the country and another exam for the chosen subject (it can be Geography, Social Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Home Ec., Accounts, Textiles, Graphical Communications, languages, etc)

@@as19J01 I appreciate this detailed info, i actually have quite an interest in school systems around the world. i learned basic geology and social studies in grade school (early part of schooling) but in high school geology covered from inside the earth to solar system, weather, etc and you just had to have 3 years science of choice. most ppl did bio, chem, physics. we had a mandatory year of geography/world humanities in high school however, and plenty of related electives.

In the Netherlands it’s also 1 subject. It’s called geography class but you get some geology in there too

I always forget how more forgiving school grading is in other parts of the world... In the U.S., a 5/10 is an F; failing. A 6/10 is a D, a 7/10 a C, 8/10 a B, 9/10 an A-, and 10/10 an A. In uni, you have to get a C+ overall to pass a class and have it count for your major. C or below and it's do-over time. It's brutal.

In my high school, 94% was an A (90-93) was B- and below 65% was failing. I’m not sure why they thought that was doing any of us any favors? I never turned in homework but aced all my tests and my high school transcript would look a lot nicer if they had just stuck to the system you describe like everywhere else in the country 🙄 I took a university class in Canada and was amazed that A went all the way down to 80 something percent

Also, I was a language assistant outside Paris and the teacher asked me to grade some of the middle schooler’s little projects with me. I don’t understand the system and told her so (we were not supposed to be handing out grades). So the lowest grade I gave was a 16/20 and the boy said to me, “Thank you so much for the good grade!!” 😅 I think they would consider 10/20 something like our C, like a 70/100

I'm form Poland and took extended geography in high-school and we had A LOT of stuff including all the countries in the world, we would get like a little test on Europe and then another on the America's and the rest later too, it's a lot but I really liked it, then covid came - schools closed and I couldn't get myself to study... thank you for the content!! you're hilarious and watching you is very enjoyable🥰
