It’s okay to not make permanent decisions during mixed emotions, at the end of the day only YOU can decide what’s best for you & the kids! Take your time, you owe that to yourself. Coming from someone who has been in a similar situation...I personally think you taking time and going day by day is the smartest, healthiest thing to do. In the beginning the anger is so all consuming, it's hard to stay level headed. Putting the kids first will help you in the next few months. Stay busy, talk about your feelings, let it all out. Maybe even counseling for you and Daniel? It saved my marriage and help our kids so much. It made us talk about things we didn't want to, made us not judge one another to harshly. It was eye opening to say the least. Even if you guys choose not to stay together, counseling will help you co parent better, because communicating (especially in the beginning) is tough. My only advice, which I think you are already following, is don't be pressured into making decisions until you are ready. You have to make decisions that will affect the rest of your life. Right, kids have to think about mom’s feelings too and can’t expect her to be in the house with him. Also teach the girls not to be treated like this by a man and teach the boys not to treat girls like that. Don’t get me wrong she’s right not to be rash and make decisions when angry, it’s just kids can understand why she would want him out of the house. A lot for everyone to ask of her. When you mentioned choosing anger as the daily emotion, it brought me back to when my ex brought the man she cheated on me with, over to MY house, while I wasn't home, to pack up her stuff! I had never been so mad at someone like that in my life. So I can definitely relate there. 🙃 Just know that your emotions and feelings will change, day by day, hour by hour. The same thing happened to my family when I was 8. I’m the youngest of 6 kids. It was a painful divorce but I do want to tell you if that’s the route you take, the kids WILL be okay. Sometimes it’s truly for the best. I think my parents made the right decision to divorce

They were already planning on putting it on the market even before all this. Also she is a Christian and so am I and why look at the sad and negative all the time. Kendal, i’m almost 20 years old now, and my parents divorced when i was in 5th grade. then 4 years later they got back together and got remarried. they’re still together to this day. sometimes it really takes something almost falling apart to realize how much you truly need it. my prayers go out to you and your babies right now. if you feel it’s worth fixing, then it definitely is! i am so glad my parents fixed things and themselves as individuals. your babies and YOU deserve the best!❤️

If they see you unhappy, settling for anything less than what you deserve, it sets a precedent for them that that's okay. There's nothing wrong with separating, your kids will still love the both of you just the same 🙂 it's hard when you have been with someone for so long and have created this life together, but sometimes putting yourself first also means you are putting your kids first ❤️ you don't want to regret your decision down the road or feel like you're living a life you don't want just because you think it'll be better for your kids, they would want to see you happy and thriving, that's what's better for them !

I'm almost 44 and during the holidays at my mom's, the kids and grandkids, would either camp in my mom's bedroom on the floor, or in the living room with her. My mom died in September of 2021, and gosh, do I miss that! My mom and dad divorced before I was 2, so when we went to visit him and my stepmom, it was the same thing. All 3 of us kids, sleeping in their bedroom. My Dad had a stroke almost 8 months ago and is in a rehabilitation center in a nursing home. He gets better, than goes backwards. It's in the air and in God's hands, with what's going to happen. I'd give anything, to be able to lay in the floor, of his and my stepmoms bedroom floor, and watch movies and laugh with him! As people, we need to not rush so much, and take the time, to just enjoy the time we have with our loved ones.

Happy New year Kendall. Hang in there, I’m so glad your house is filled with the sounds of your children. I am an empty nester now, and loved the days when my kids were all home. You do not owe us any explanation about divorce etc…. however share what you feel comfortable sharing. May I suggest finding a good therapist for yourself, it helped me tremendously while going thru I think something similar. It’s expensive, but he is paying by golly, that’s the least he can do with his money. Good luck and God bless.

My parents had the same exact thing that happened to them. My dad screwed up and it took YEARS for us to go back to “normal”. Like you said you think your doing good until something hits you like a bomb. They never got a divorced which I’m truly thankful for! Me and my brother were so young back then that we couldn’t really process everything, like one day we would be out as a family having a good time and the boom something happens and later on in the day my dad would be on the road to my grandparents house. I kinda of wished back then that they got a divorced because they would fight ALL of the time and it would scare me half to death. So all I ask is if y’all fight just do it in a safe place and private place not in front of the kids because I know how they feel. You are doing the best anyone could. I think what shouldn’t be done is making such a big decision in anger. If you decide to divorce … ok. If you grieve what you had and then determine things can work out and you stay together … ok. When you've been married for a long time, divorce is not always the answer. Sometimes, things can be fixed, sometimes they can't. Once you're not so angry, maybe you can forgive him. But, be patient with yourself and give yourself some time.

Kendal I’ve been in your shoes. Watching you on the videos makes me want to reach out and hug you and say some things to you that I know you have to hear. Anger, fear, and hurt will lessen but the trust is gone- it will never be the same. Counseling helped me with making a very hard decision to move on for MY sanity. Your children are watching you and will learn from your next moves. Show them how NOT to be treated in their future relationships. FYI: my breakup was 21 years ago and my kids watched as I kept my dignity.

I completely understand what you are going through. It takes a while and ALOT of support, and counseling to make the best decision that you can for yourself and your family. And no one can judge you because no one knows how they’d act in that situation unless they are in it. i do want to say though, it seems unfair that you end up going alone upstairs while he is with the kids having fun.
