I remember the furore when Steven Pinker described the Alt-Right as highly intelligent.

I just took an online version of the Wordsum test and my score correlates with an IQ of 100. That's about what I expected which is a shame. I was really hoping that I underestimated my intelligence. But as a race realist who strictly admires intellectuals like Charles Murray, Sam Harris, and the minds at Aporia, surely people like me and all of us can use that as evidence to assert that we probably have far above average abilities in some kind of specialized intelligence relating to Rationalism.

People keep overlooking the fact that Woketarinism isn't new. It is a slightly modified form of the "political correctness" in the '80s. PC was largely motivated by the Continental philosophy that infected the weaker regions of the humanities--poststructuralism, postmodernism, the other "post-"s, critical theory, etc. These views were generally anti-rationalist, anti-scientific, and wedded to Marxism and other radical leftist politics. So, among other things: it wasn't the smartest people that were gripped by these views, but, rather, some of the least-intelligent / least-analytical, least-scientific, most politically radical people in academia. Analytic philosophy, the more rigorous social sciences (eg econ) and the sciences held out for decades--though they've fallen now. This was always a movement that gripped literary types, not analytical types, and, thus, a movement that gripped those who are verbally adept, but not great at actual reasoning. Hence its emphasis on words--neologistic jargon, redefinition, etc. Also its tendency to employ the literary method of avoiding disconfirmation by reaching/twisting disconfirming evidence, reinterpreting disconfirmation as confirmation and vice-versa with respect to its opponents. One consequence: though I realize you have to take what you can get to some extent, relying on a vocabulary test to establish intelligence in this context probably overestimates the intelligence of the woketarians, and, to a lesser extent, the liberals: they all tend to be verbal. Whereas most of the best minds tend to be on the science side, which is must less verbal...and also less leftist. Still, an interesting video.

great point about the reliance on verbal gymnastics to cover up a lack of rational thought...

Often, greater intelligence just means a greater capacity at rationalization.

The course of every intellectual, if he pursues his journey long and unflinchingly enough, ends in the obvious, from which the non-intellectuals have never stirred.”- Aldous Huxley

We need to separate cognitive complexity from complexity of cultural code. The woke cultural code is actually complex, and was assembled by complex thinkers. That doesn't mean that everybody operating on that cultural code understands the complexity or could assemble it themselves. Complex thinkers are operating on various cultural codes. If this framework seems compelling, I recommend reading the second half of The Listening Society by Hanzi Freinacht.

Noah clearly stocked up his ark with facts & logic, two of each. Dutton would also say, intelligent ppl typically tend to be more socially/environmentally sensitive which implies that as the zeitgeist increasingly tilts toward Neomarxist psychopathy, more intelligent ppl will become increasingly susceptible to adoption of the ideology, especially when younger. The only cure is either facts & logic combined with high, or possibly outlier high IQ, or a cultural pushback, so I guess excessive Rechristianization is gonna be the next goddam thing. Praise the Lorde, feelin' good on a Wednesday.

They are also highly sensitive to what is required of them for the purposes of promoting self-interest. Careers, salaries, social acceptance (within their academic circles) and professional credibility all hinge on whether they are seen to be accepting of wokery. But I think we know it goes beyond even that, since they move on to persuading themselves they actually "believe" in all the contradictory absurdity that goes with it.
