The mirror thing is supposedly called incidence of angle. Here this girl explains it and says if you have a longer piece of paper you'll eventually block the item because it goes passed the angle where the light reflects the item. Still does my head in, but the visuals help a bit more than just explaining it.

Reflection is a bounce back of mirrors, light, ect. So a item behind the paper is reflecting off the mirror and lens of the camera is picking that up and our eyes has lens which is also picking up the reflection of the item from the mirror

So on the mirror thing, this is how it works: So the the reason we can see things in the first place is because when light hits an object, it bounces off (think of it like shining a laser pointer at a mirror) and our eyes absorb the deflected light. So the reason we cant see when its pitch black dark is cuz there is no light coming off of anything for our eyes to absorb. In short - Light hits thing -> Light bounces off of thing -> Light that bounced off thing reaches our eyes -> SIGHT! So, the reason you can see an object like a phone or hand in a mirror when there is a piece of paper between it and the mirror is because the light that bounces off of it so your eye can see it, also bounces off the mirror which then reaches your eye. An experiment you can do that might make it visually easier to understand would be to do this: -get a small laser pointer, a piece of paper, and a spritz bottle (something that, when you spray it, it just leave a light mist in the air - this is supposed to help you see the light coming out of the laser pointer) -put the paper on the mirror like normal -then take the laser pointer, turn it on, and put against the paper with its side touching the paper (dont point the laser AT the paper or the experiment wont work) -now, with the laser pointer on, slowly pull the back side of the laser pointer off of the paper until the light from it is reflected off the mirror (you can use the spritz bottle to better see the light coming off of the laser and you can also turn the lights off to see the laser more clearly) you will see that, even though the end of laser pointer (where the light is coming from) is on the other side of the paper, the light coming out of it is still able to bounce off the mirror. This experiment represents the light that bounces off an object. This is how you can see something in a mirror even though a piece of paper is between it and the mirror. Simply: Light hits thing->light bounces off of thing->light that bounced off of thing also bounces off of mirror->light that bounced off of thing and then bounced off of mirror reaches our eyes->SIGHT! Love what you guys do and love the content! Hope this helps lol
