I like how you explained that it's really important to be able to define the things that you like about yourself so you're able to conquer social anxiety better. Thanks for this!

Hi Natasha. I know I'm really late, but I just really need to get this off my chest. I'm fourteen. I'm in grade 9, about to go into grade 10. However, I haven't been going to school. This problem isn't new either. In grade 7 and 8, I missed the second half of the year. This year I missed the entirety of it. I like school and love learning, which is why I don't understand why I don't go. I went to a counsellor and was diagnosed with Social Anxiety and Mild Depression. Along these years, I even harmed myself, even though I knew it wasn't right. My school decided to put me in this Gateway Program, which is a building run by the teachers of my school for kids who missed school for personal reasons. The kids there can work at their own pace in a small environment. I can't even go there. It's June. School's ending soon. We had a high school orientation explaining things and the vice principal told me that I would remain in Gateway until he sees some commitment on my part (which I understand). I have a goal to go to Gateway this whole month (even if I'm cutting it close). Do you think this is good? If so, do you know something that can help me go?

I think it is a great goal Anna! Are you in therapy. I think getting the right kind of help is so key. Especially with the amount of anxiety you are experiencing.

I was about to ask, "does social anxiety have anything to do with self confidence?" and then as soon as I asked she said, "now you have to work on your self confidence" lol, btw, I'm 10 and I know I have this. When I go to trampoline parks or playgrounds, when someone talks to me I just mumble things so they don't hear me. Also I have no self confidence at all in my personality, people don't believe in me so I just learned not to believe in myself either and it doesn't help but this video does, ty Natasha. I know my mom would never take me to a therapist so these really help.

I’m glad the videos are helping Sofia. I know it is hard, but you don’t want let other people’s opinions shape how you feel about yourself. Even if others don’t believe in you, that doesn’t mean you have to join them. What do you love about yourself? What is awesome about your personality? You are good at finding videos to help yourself - that’s pretty impressive at only ten!

I haven’t been diagnosed with social anxiety and no one knows about it. I already know deep down I have it and it’s the worst thing I’ve ever experienced. I can’t talk to people, I go bright red and my voice goes weird. I can’t even walk properly because I feel like everyone is watching me. If I get asked a question in class, I’m on the edge of fainting. I tear up whenever people try talk to me and I go bright red. I’m a very quiet person and it’s the worst thing ever. I’m a goalkeeper in football and it’s really important for me to be loud - I have the skills but not the voice and it’s holding me back. I also really badly need help in school but I just can’t ask teachers for help it feels impossible

Thank you so much for your video. My son is extremely anxious.. he present fear of so many things, and it’s hard for him to control these feelings. He was diagnosed with autism, but I don’t feel like he has autistic traits, maybe just this anxiety. Could he have been misdiagnosed?

I’m 11 and I think I have social anxiety... im going into secondary it it won’t help me. I’d say there’s 3 types of social anxiety: the really bad social anxiety, the social anxiety that affects us most of the time, and the anxiety then affects us rarely. If I do have it, I have social anxiety that affect me most of the time. Tomorrow I’m gonna tell my mum I think I have it. Wish me luck...

Hey, I’m positive I have an anxiety disorder, I’m just not sure what one, I get angry and mix emotions sometimes, it can’t be hormones because I’ve had it since the humble age of 7!, if you can diagnose me I’d really appreciate that, you can ask more if needed.

I have social anxiety and anorexia. I get so scared before I go to school every day. And at other points in the day. I normally get very sick and will throw up normally. So even when I am not in a social situation I get anxious about getting sick and throwing up. A lot of it is around food, and whenever I leave my room or the bathroom I get anxiety because I don't feel safe anymore. Is there anyone else like me??
@skylarsdalimit59066 жыл бұрын
I can't relate, but there are people like you. You should talk to your doctor or something about your anorexia. I don't know, it's stupid advice I guess. I bet you've heard that a million times. I can relate to the anxiety though. And now I'm here, writing this stupid comment. But today, I'm gonna post it. This is the Internet and I can say whatever I want. So I'm gonna say what I feel. I ummm I don't know. I say that a lot. Well then.

@@skylarsdalimit5906 Thank you, I am currently seeing a lot of professionals like dietitions, counsellors, doctors, psychiatric teams. And then the anxiety isn't really being helped which is why I came here to try and help myself. I have big exams this year for my GCSEs so it will be a struggle to cope. Always here if you need a chat. My Snapchat is cavendishgirlxx 💗
