Wow thousand of podcasts reels on how not to spend money, finally found one which can help people like money who are afraid to spend

The last line about the idli was funny. 😂 But yeah, that's the difference. My mind is conditioned to think twice before spending any money. My kids, or this generation to be specific, don't worry too much about saving money.

This is a brilliant Video, I fully agree what you have said, spend a bit more so that you need not cut corners and enjoy certain luxuries, who you can afford.

Two things we're not taught well by our society(because clearly there are rare good examples to follow) are... 1- how to make money 2- how to spend money Both are equally important

I grew up in a very poor family, we only had enough to eat, I never got any new toys or new clothes on diwali etc. What made things worse were we lived in an upper middle class neighborhood where all the kids of the neighbors got new branded clothes and shoes on diwali etc. My mother was depressed because we were poor. So when I came to the US for studies on full scholarship, I used to spend most of my scholarship stipend, I bought many many things for which I had no need, i think it was a result of me never having much as a child. Now I am nearing 40 and I have no interest left in buying anything because I already did that in my 20s.

Middle class, salaried class people are struggling to save and earn enough to spend. Those earning less than 50k are regarded as poor and that too in private sector, earning between 60k and 100k is middle class above 100k is upper middle class. To purchase a house in good locality and having good area costs a lot - in crores which is unaffordable for those earning between 100k and 150k. How many people in India earn crores from Stock Market - miniscule - less than 1%. There are infinite people who lose money in stock market than earn.

I know people in my family, that even he/she gets the ROI still they are unable spend that amount. They will still think to invest that amount or will never withdraw the amount. I know it's not because they don't want to or they can't but it's a rooted habit and they have followed this frugal living their entire life and it's next to impossible for them to spend amount just like that.

Sorry sir, I beg to differ in my opinion. This video is bit misleading and probably best suited for people who already have enough money in their bank accounts or if they know already that their business is going to flourish and generate enough income to secure their future. Majority of salaried employees are still trying to learn and figure out how best to save their money. Spending money requires zero thinking and absolutely zero effort but saving money is an art by itself and requires much more planning and forward thinking (You understand this much better than most of us here). Harsh reality is nobody wants to teach us how to save. When a common man is struggling to earn even Rs. 3000 a month in our country, why should anyone be spending 3000 on a shirt or buy hush puppies shoes or spend 200 rupees on a idly? I call this pure blasphemy. Or if this video is intended for a specific set of audience then I shall immediately retract my words.
@anuragsharma4792 жыл бұрын
I agree with you 💯
@arjunps67762 жыл бұрын
This video is obviously not made for someone who earns 3000 per month. I'm not sure if such a person will come to KZbin to watch an English video. Fact is that there are a lot of people who have saved a lot and become quite rich in the last 15 years or so, especially those who invested in equities. But these people have been conditioned by the scarcity mindset of socialist era. This video is for those. If you're someone who hasn't saved in the right asset class despite earning for last 20 years, it's better to focus on savings.
@pavankumar-ff9bo8zc5y2 жыл бұрын
@@arjunps6776 The same goes for the rich. If they have too much savings in their bank accounts (‘too much’ or ‘enough’ is highly subjective, I agree), why would they be spending their time on Subramoney’s youtube channel? If they have enough money to back their future that means they already got their equation right 😃 But again that number may be relatively small. Many of us are still struggling to survive and look for all means to save our hard earned money. The video itself doesn’t make it seem obvious to us and that it is only targeted at people with such and such mindset.

Nothing wrong in spending on small things but blowing on unnecessary things is bs...insurance is bs...you need liquidity of at least 15 lakhs ready...WHEN ONE GETS OLD YOU NEED MONEY FOR HEALTHCARE WORKERS...NO CHILDREN WILL CARE FOR YOUUUU!!!!!!!
