I just watched “The man who knew Infinity” Movie. As I i watched that Movie I couldn’t help but just take my Algebra Book from my Shelf and Started working on it. I realise when I didn’t know certain questions at all, I needed to work harder. Thank you Maths sorcerer for this video. Ramanujan Defeated all odds to Become a Great and I want to up there like him

So I was in and out of school all the way up to sophomore year. In the middle of that year, I dropped out. There were many factors that contributed to this, but as you could probably guess I was behind in just about everything. It always made me extremely self-conscious about how behind I was, I could never keep up. I had always struggled with math in particular for the longest time and I thought I'd never understand it. Forever at a disadvantage and lost even with the simplest of Math. Well, in the last year, I have developed a renewed vigor for learning. With math as my no.1 priority, I stumbled across these videos and It has changed my life. I've seen my struggle from a new perspective. I learned how to learn, I learned how to handle the intimidation of math,, I learned how to be content with the progress I've made, and I've even learned how to enjoy it! It has been a difficult journey, one which I am nowhere near completing. But that only excites me more! because that only means there is so much more to learn! so much fulfillment to be had! I am very grateful for these videos, and I hope others are as fortunate to find this same passion. Not far from now, I will be starting Trigonometry! I have come a long way from where I restarted back in long division haha!

Helps to just listen to your body sometimes. If you lose your ability to focus, then it's time to take a break. Having other interests helps with that.

I thinking spending an hour a day working on something you’re trying to get better at is really good, but also, I’ve found that if I don’t have an hour, even 10-20 minutes is better than nothing

I won't expose my goal, but math is necessary for that. Professor I see your videos but I don't comment. Seriously, your methods and the way you discuss the problems that I face everyday doing maths has helped me get out of troubles. Unfortunately, I stopped a day ago because a student was thinking and implementing better than me, and I got tired. I left maths, and now I am going to start it again today. I will set tasks for myself again. Thanks a lot professor. You are a spiritual maths teacher.

I was reading a book of Professor Barbara Oakley and she explained the importance of taking rest. She said when we are solving Math problems we are in focused mode but when we get stuck we should take a strategic back step and go into diffuse mode so that our mind can work on that problem in background and we can have a fresh start on the problem.

For me it is like doing push ups. I said to myself, I am going to do 100 math problems everyday, and no more different than push up, I did only 3 to 5. But I did do them everyday. thanks for this video.

I'm reading a book titled Book In A Month by Victoria Lynn Schmidt, PhD that has a lot of discussion about managing time One thing it says to is make appointments with yourself to write. But you can make appointment with yourself to do anything you want to do including make a appointment with yourself to study and do math. I think that book would be good for anyone wanting to use their time in a productive way and not necessarily use the advice in it to write a book. The advice about managing time can be used to get anything else done. The book also says to keep going instead of stopping to rewrite. That can be applied to almost anything you want to do also including math.

So, I'm a writer and study STEM from a sci-fi PoV. And yes! The Stockholm syndrome is real for both worlds. The important thing is to make regular practice a total habit, which overrides any outside expectations and pressure. It's a bit like how a rocket launch requires very little steering with a gravity turn to reach orbit, as long as enough energy gets deposited to the journey up. It's all about making the subject matter meaningful to the student, in which schools tend to fail startlingly. Nevermind surviving a test or a semester... *Are we learning?*

Rest is very important. James Joyce famously stopped writing for a year after completing one of his masterpieces. It's not about how fast you go. It's about how you grow.

live in Turkey, I am 17 years old. There is an exam that senior students take for university here. For mathematics, there are limit derivative, integral, parabola, trigonometry and science lessons, in short, an intense exam. And 14 days left. I work 10 hours a day to do it all and it's still not enough. I don't know what I should do

do sample tests. thats really all you can do. accept the limited time. dont panic. its not the end of the world if you have to retake or not get the results you want

Oh my friend it's the same for me here in Iran- exept that we've got around 40 days but we need to take the final exams beside the entrance examination as well to get accepted for university- an hour ago I wasn't able to answer some of the chemistry questions and got very frustrated because I need the highest grade possible. I think the best thing to do in a short time is firt accepting the situation as a friend mentioned earlier and practicing and reviewing as much as possible, that's all we can do. I hope you the best.

You need to take a holistic approach. After a certain number of hours, another hour of studying might not help as much as getting another hour of sleep. Or putting in another 30 minutes of studying vs getting a workout. Or spending an hour preparing healthy food for yourself, so your brain is running on clean energy. Or spending an hour doing something you love, or in nature, or with friends, to keep your spirits high.
