Great tips and ideas!!! I have a 2 burner we found is just right for the wife and I. We ALWAYS clean it up between cooking and eating. Small griddle makes a short process. When we're done, the meat has rested and it's time to eat.

Same here, I have a 17" single burner. Quick and easy to clean.

Absolutely! I do find that more often than not, it’s quicker to just get it done right after cooking. I will let it cool just to finish a final few coats of oil after eating. Cheers!

Thanks for your great videos, since this week I am also the proud owner of a Griddle. I have the Pit Boss ultimate 4 and have grilled on it 5 times so far. Fried eggs, scrambled eggs and bacon, steak and twice pinsa. Although I always clean it straight away, I already have dark spots on the grill. And because I didn't think it would get so hot, I melted off my plastic Pit Boss scraper while frying the eggs.... Are they not suitable for smashed burgers and steaks? Because you use high temperatures there. Can the coating be damaged by heat? I think you have a video showing how to clean these dark spots with baking soda. Greetings from Germany!
@waltwins11 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for watching, and congratulations on the new griddle! The dark spots will happen, and we hope the video we have helps with them! We typically use lower temperatures for the Ultimate griddles, however, cooking on higher temps for smashburgers and to sear steaks is totally fine! Just not something you’d do often. We found that even on medium heat, we get an excellent sear for both smashers and steaks! We have a couple of videos comparing the steel to ceramic on each of these cases. Take care fam, thank you again for watching!
@kristenl45064 ай бұрын
How is the ceramic griddle still holding up for you guys? We just bought the 4 burner ultimate, because we liked the idea of easier maintenance since we are complete beginners. Thank you for making all these informational videos! 😊

I heard you should always pre-heat griddle on low especially up here in the north with very cold temps so your Steel top doesn't warp getting to hot to fast.

I've used my Blackstone for quite a few months now. I can make eggs on it and they just slide all around still. So nothing is sticking atp. But recently I have been having some spots that are starting to flake off of the surface as I cook . Really noticeable when applying butter to get ready to cook. I keep it clean after each cook, so it seems it's more just the seasoned surface flaking off. Wanted any advice on how to conquer that? Thanks for all your advice and vids. Griddle on!

Hey Guys, thank you fei from Germany for these very informal videos. One question, using baking soda for cleaning, will it destroy the ceramic surface long term? I mean it’s abrasive, will it damage the surface or f doesn’t it reach the ceramic surface? Thank you! BR
@waltwins11 ай бұрын
Thank you so much fam!! We got the idea for baking soda from extensive research on ceramic and nonstick cookware - it should be fine, but not something used regularly. Cleaning the griddle right after the cook should help for many cooks!
@Damn_ol_ini10 ай бұрын
@@waltwins Thank you for your quick answer. I have absolutely no experience with the griddle so i need some time to find out how to handle it correctly. How often do you clean it with the baking soda method? Greetings 🤙
@waltwins10 ай бұрын
@@Damn_ol_ini- At first we did it more than we do now. We realized if we do it too often, we could end up wearing the surface down. We make sure we do a good clean after each cook, so we don’t need to do the baking soda method that often, depending on how frequently we cook, and the nature of what we are making (higher heat foods vs low heat), but maybe once every few months. (There have been times when we didn’t need to do it for a year). Hope this helps!
