This is a topic long overdue. I'm a mobile detailer in South Florida. I work everything from a Honda Civic to Ferrari's. I perform everything from interior/exterior details to full paint correction and coatings. My clients appreciate my high level of awareness and attention to detailing. That's why I'm successful. I don't look down on any other detailers. We're all out here to make a living. 🍻

Ok. The few folks I watch on utube are very positive and fun. I find the "community " of detailers, whether pros or not, are very nice and supportive. One detailer even walked me thru a first time ceramic coating I was doing because I was nervous. Fantastic people! Keep the videos coming Phil, I'm really learning and having a blast! Say hi to the wife.

I do paint correction and ceramic coating, but honestly that isn’t REALLY detailing. Whoever said that is only detailing is a fool. Detailing is the process of getting the cars details completely cleaned. I feel more of interior detailing is really detailing..idk if this makes sense lol

If a vehicle has the matte black stripes on hood, how would you protect the finish of the decal? Thank you for a reply
@thedetailingworkshop26893 жыл бұрын
Hi. Matte and Satin vinyl can be waxed and sealant using modern day liquid and sprays. The only thing that shouldn't be done to them is actual polishing. Even ceramic coatings can be applied to matte/satin vinyl with no issues of making them glossy.

I hired a car washer that advertised and charged like a Detailer. I made a bad review on his website and he removed all reviews. He was unable to clean my alloy rims. He called it rust that could not be removed for a $250 “detail”. I cleaned it using a household Clorox wipe.
@thedetailingworkshop26893 жыл бұрын
Ohh wow. Sorry to here that. Who knows what his reasoning was, but I have certainly come across wheels that could not be cleaned no matter what, they would have to be refurbished. Sorry you had that experience.

Awesome common sense video! Only a short while ago everyone was a hack not removing 95% of defects on paint. Now it's all one step and preserving paint thickness. A very fickle industry. It only takes one so called high end detailer to come with a new technique and you'll see the usual suspects within days saying the same thing!
@detailgrandma222 жыл бұрын
How weird. You made this a year ago. And I entered Detailing 6 months ago and it's still happening. I made a video just a couple months ago about that very same problem that I have run into and even watched hapoen to other newbies in a Facebook group. Since then I've left ALL fb groups and pages due to that behavior. The attacking of new guys is out of control. Being a woman this made me angry. I just left the Trucking Industry after almost 25 yrs so I've been dealing the issues of being a woman in a man's field. Here I come to an accidental find in Detailing and I am literally thinking how easy trucking was compared to what I've dealt with by other detailers. Some experienced detailers are down right mean. My video was on a young man who was starting out and had very little equipment and no money to buy equipment.. He wanted to know a good way to clean floor mats. When I saw the 48 comments of people telling him he should've NEVER even started. He was going to make a fool of himself. Ignoring the information in his post and telling him to go buy this $1500 extractor. I private messaged him and told him why I won't comment publicly to him and explained what I do. Being new to the biz myself I don't have resources to have fancy equipment either. The equipment I have at the car lot belongs to my dad. But I still can't use it in every situation. So in my video I display how I do it without the equipment and shared it to him. I haven't heard from him lately but I hope he is doing well and still plowing forward. But I will say I have questioned my place here in Detailing until I realized, hey I'm 51 years old. I've been through more in life than those young thugs so I'm gonna plow forward and find my way. I will continue to watch SOME youtubers to learn and grow but I won't be a part of Detailing groups on social media ever again. Those people will just tear you down.
@thedetailingworkshop26892 жыл бұрын
Yeah It's sad how this community is sometimes, I follow only a few detailers that I know personally on FB and stopped wasting my time on forums and groups like that. I have found that it's not real professional detailers who own business on those forums and groups, it's mostly elitist enthusiasts with inflated egos. VERY bad place to be, extremely toxic to each other and new people who want to join and just learn. I speak out against them all the time as you may well know. So forget them and YOU do what YOU need to do my fellow detailer! Keep on rocking it!

HAHA I know right! Reviews whether paid or not are ALL bias...no matter what. It's all based on opinion and the variables of demographic, weather, vehicles, etc are so numerous that even the "best testing" still don't reveal true results across the board...Its ALWAYS bias PERIOD. I don't even rely on reviews anymore. People should get the product for themselves and make their own decisions. It's sad....I said my peace...I'll move on.
