Love how Thorfinn actually gets beaten up here. It just emphasizes that he is in such a critical place of inner turmoil. We saw back in 1x23 how he took down grunts with ease even while delirious. And now, he is supposedly in peak physical condition, and he is actually taking hits. It's just so consistent and realistic. Great reaction brother Swani. Ep 8 and 9 are an incredible two-parter.

This is definitely one of my favorite episodes and I think one of the best this season. For whatever reason it just resonates with me particularly hard the way Thorfinn self-reflects in this episode and how Einar and Sverkel give him support and wisdome. It's incredibly touching.

I know you are conflicted about Pater for last episode but the reason he advised Ketil to beat the kids is that he knew that Ketil is too soft and would let the kids go unpunished which would reflect badly on his reputation in front of his folks, Pater is smart and did this for his master's own interest lest it damages his image and people wont take him seriously, so shout out to Pater for this.

in my perspective, i think that punch could be an act to protect einar, but imo it was just thorfinn's rage after hearing the retainer's gaslighting. you could see the rage in his face after he punched him, and it certainly didn't look like a rational decision by thorfinn so that was ultimately a bad decision from him. but anyways as always, great video! i love saying lets go out loud when i see your videos come out
