I love being alone. No one tells you what to do. As far as security there are ways to be secure.

alone is good but you got to have your mind right! like Cool Hand Luke. you got to git your mind right Boss! alone is good but after like 5 days of no one you start feeling different. then you got to manage that feeling. i like to camp within like 100~300 yards away from the buddy i am camping with. it gives a feeling of security and if needed you can be at his camp or him at yours in very short order. you know just in case. i had to go to the ER a couple of weeks back. i have 3 dogs and if i am admitted then i need someone to watch my dogs for a spell. then most people don't' go to town on the same day so when i go i ask camping buddies you need anything while i am in town? they do the same for me. i have pulled people out of the mud several times. so being near someone is a good thing.

That Detroit lake area in previous videos looked incredible. Matty I at times wonder what you do for food on a daily basis? You don't seem to video yourself cooking from the video's Ive seen. Would like to see an average day of Matty eating if possible. Thank you.

Some of us guys, you included, decided to leave a camp where a guy was acting crazy a couple months ago. We weren't scared, just made a wise decision to depart the scene and avoid a scary situation later on. No doubt loneliness creeps in when you are alone for too long but that is why we have meetups! Always nice to get a shower when you're living the #vanlife!

12 years ago I met someone I thought I could put up with. He had found a way to travel across the country year round, chasing 70° (which is a lil cooler than I ever care to be) while making a decent living. 50 miles out it’s 64°F, his dogs starts to pant, he cuts the ac on, & I caught a ride back home. We still talk for an hour or so every week, & share pizza once a year.

I have to agree with you Matt, I look foreward to the peace and serenity of living alone and the love of nature! ..if you get lonely you can always go to a park or? And talk to people!

Yes I’ll take solo over a crowd any day. I love being by myself. People are way more scary than animals these days. Enjoy that beautiful weather you’re camping in. It’s in the 90’s with 75 percent humidity in south Mississippi 🥵. Stay safe😊✌🏻

Looks like you're having great weather. I like a lot of solitude. People always ask me if I'm scared, especially as a solo woman. I tell them that I always trust my gut and if something doesn't feel right, I leave. That's the perk of camping in a van!

Absolutely beautiful campsite! Pin this one for us for when you review. I had something large, on one of my first times out, rub up against my tent, smack it, and then toss rocks from my firepit. Since I was in a tent I was a little bit worried. Large scat appeared at the edge of my campsite every night. I have no idea what it was. Scat was pretty big but bears were not suppose to be in this area. Hmmm... Luv ya, love your channel❣️ 🌳🌲🗻🚐🚿🪣

I don't think there's any bears that low on the eastside.... A day trip to huge lava flow, is up on the old highway. Mckenzie Pass. I suggest Cascade Lakes Highway when you decide to start south again. Lake Billy Chinook(down stream) is ALL pay areas. Oh ya... The Big Rodeo is in that town, this coming weekend... It will be packed over there........!

I get kind of lonely every time I go out for a 2-3 month period, but a few months after returning (to my house where I live alone!) I'm totally ready to do it again. Am considering full-time which will probably require more people time for me.

Travelling with a large group is like herding cats, seems fun at first but gets old real quick! I have learned to travel with one or two likeminded people is good for short periods of time. The in between times it’s nice to be alone. Being an American in your own country I would obtain some sort persuader and keep it out of sight but handy. If you come to Canada make sure you leave it with a friend until you return. Best of luck to you!
