This program is televised with millions watching...it makes sense for him to ask for viewership and entertainment value. Its a legitimate consideration for him to make on a TV program of this type. If the case was being heard in local civic court, not on TV and with no audience nor anybody viewing, its doubtful he'd ask the question. Nothing wrong with him requesting she comment on it for viewership sake; when she declined (her right), he rightfully can turn to the gun issue and being a "nut" for using it. Just like she had a right to decline, he was right to pivot to something that was relevant that she couldn't decline to talk about.
