Are You Offended By MGK's Razor Blade Guitar?

After the feuds with Eminem and Corey Taylor, MGK became one of those celebrities that it's "okay" to hate. Like Dane Cook, Nickelback, Justin Bieber, etc. This is a manifestation of that. METALBIRB opens his post by knocking MGK, and even says it in a way that suggests the reader already agrees. MGK is into rock/punk/metal aesthetics, which razors fit. It's probably not much deeper than that. We all impose our morality on the art we consume. That's probably a good thing. The issue is when you take that to the degree of stifling the artist. Metal deals with a lot of really grim aspects of reality; a point Ronnie made well. METALBIRB knows that, he just doesn't like anything attached to MGK.

I feel rather than it being a moral question it's more so.. bad taste. He's done these things before, drinking blood for a proposal, the whole unremovable engagement ring thing before - of course smashing a champagne bottle over his head causing it to bleed and posting it on insta. He's not much different from Lady Gaga circa 2010, though she at least was a classy type of trash. His latest songs had like 10x less engagement than his bigger tracks so back to the - anything for a following. Falling off so this is the perfect controversy to get people talking about him again. Its just sad to see really, edgy for the sake of edgy. He landed in that alt rock position but swear my guy would be yelling heehaw and singing sweet home Alabama if it got him more attention. Mgk is just a caricature of what he thinks a Rockstar is, we all know he was a rapper before he was a rocker and it shows.

Guitars like that have been made since the 80's, in various forms. Who cares? Looks cool and I hope they keep making silly gimmick guitars.

Absolutely no point in getting offended. Exactly who would get offended? To me, that guitar is terrible looking, but in no way would I consider that offensive. If this comes off as too aggressive for some people, then melt snowflakes, it is way past your bedtime on this one.

I quit following Mtlbrb because who the F cares? Who is he to judge? Not a MGK fan but the guys a youtuber so shut up and just talk about the music. I think he got too big for his britches. Alex your stuff is great!! I hate agreeing with Ronnie on anything 😅😅😅😅😅 but here we are.
