In this chat with Fearne, Roman explains why he feels it’s important to share both his ongoing grief and stories of his own mental health with the nation each day. They also talk about why it’s important to be bold about using the word suicide; in naming it, we’re more able to do something about it.

Excellent discussion. I have depression and anxiety, 10 years ago I didn't even have any idea what it was. Ferne you're amazing for doing what you're doing, and Roman! I don't think you realise how much you're helping people. You've certainly helped me in feeling less alone and weird. Great interview!

Not knowing what it was is the dangerous part because you yourself have to reach out for help, the help doesn't come to you unless you become so bad you end up getting sectioned. I hope you feel better!

I agree the understanding needs to be early I didn’t realise what I felt as a child as at the very least was anxiety and it look me 20 years to know myself better ❤❤ Thank you for this ❤❤ Am I ok - no I wish people cared and really asked the ok question, listened and try not to fix or brush it away

I have had anxiety since I was young and I have just finished therapy with the NHS which was so helpful but I am looking into more long term therapy that’s how I think I can enhance my wellbeing
