No. We need to fast track this rebuild by trading Skubal. It's clear Ilitch isn't gonna open up the safe and let Harris spend big $$$. So we have no other choice but to trade our best players that we know we can't or won't resign, for cheaper talent that is knocking on the doorstep of getting to the Show. I mean for goodness sakes, we don't even have a core group of young players yet that we can rebuild around. Harris needs to clean house and move on from Avila's mistakes. Guys like Skubal, Greene, Tork, Carp, and many others are not the answer. We need to rebuild this thing by adding loads of talent to our organization. The only way to do that is to trade for it! If...you can't or won't sign it, and/or develop it yourself.

Sure, but only if along with verlander they sign a hitter or two. The tigers payroll is so low, they could sign verlander, and another big name pitcher, and three big name hitters and still be in the bottom third as far as payroll is concerned. Juan Soto is a free agent after this season in New york, and signing Juan Soto to a huge contract would bring back something this team desperately needs which is excitement. The moves I'd make are sign justin verlander and Nathan eovaldi, sign Juan Soto as I said, and sign matt chapman and wily adamses and sign brandon belt and jd Martinez. You need to spend money in order to make money. Oh and while they're at it, go and get joe madden to be the manager, hes the guy i wanted the second jim leyland decided to retire.
