A few days ago I went on a hike with my girl and found a beautiful waterfall in the woods, I really paid attention to all the things I learned from watching Nigels videos and managed to get an Image I would have never thought I'd be able go get! Having found this channel when starting photography a couple of months ago is without any doubts the most valuable source of education, thank you Nigel for always sharing your experiences! You're the best teacher by far !

I started shooting less than a year ago and what inspired me was to start looking on the internet for someone who motivated me. I started following someone named Nigel Danson. It inspired me so much that today I don't miss any of your publications. And again today you proved it. Congratulations on the professionalism and motivation for someone like me. You are the best.

Glad your scout went better than mine today. My chosen trail was closed due to nesting eagles. Options B, C, D provided nothing but a couple nice walks in the woods. Watching your vlog tonight is motivating me to get out there at 4:00 a.m. again soon.

That is very useful to see how you scout a place and show the possible composition. Especially when you explain how the composition could work when the light hits those mountains. On another note, amazing to see those rock fences. We don't have that in Canada! Thanks for sharing and hope to see more of your scouting videos!

I agree with you about the Wayfarer's breakfasts Nigel. Had 2 on a long weekend on Dartmoor just recently...YUM!! :-) I agree that quality of videos is more important than quantity but they don't need to be so high production it ties you up editing for ages.I think we all pick up so many tips as it is.

The detail and simplicity in that image is beautiful. The color variations with the greens is so pleasing to the eye. Agree with u on the balance of the shot as well. The slight sunlight on the hill towards the right, plays a huge role in the flow of the image too. Loved the shot!

Hi Nigel, recently discovered your channel and have subsequently spent many lock down hours catching up with your back catalogue and enjoying your relaxed, calm, thoughtful style. Just read your About Me and get it! After many years in the corporate rat race I am moving into full time photography over the next 6 months, having been part time for 12 years. Keep up the good work and hopefully I'll get onboard with one of your workshops in the near future.

It makes me wonder ... is there a photo from 10:48 using bottom right corner in some way? It seems it has some potential for telephoto lens. Trees against the sky, trees against the hill in the background with sky, some plant perhaps. I really like country side of British highlands.

I just love the way you put your videos together; even the ones you say are rushed, for what it's worth I think they are all great. Which were the two focusing points you chose for your final stacked image and did you just use single point focus on the 1st point then move it on the screen to the 2nd focus point and shoot ? What did you use to help you choose these two points, PhotoPills ?

After seeing a lot of what's probably the same heather on Win Hill in the Peak District last weekend, I'm fairly sure it's bell heather, Erica cinerea, but we seem to be thinking along the same lines. ETA: Ah, I just saw what's probably the carnea, later in the video, 7:42. Definitely not cinerea. I was talking about the bits at 3:24 & 3:35, not so clearly pictured, and guessing they'd be the same in the Lake District, perhaps.
