The aircraft manufacturer that bought the engine made the C-130, C-5, F-117, F-22, and F-35. Also, Microsoft closed the team that made the "game" and tried to make a new game base off of Flight Simulator X, which - obviously - was failure. Another thing, if that is just a game, then why would Rod Machado, a flight instructor hold lessons within the "game" and will fail you if you don't follow his prompt? Also, if it's a "game" then why pilots use it as a learning tool?

I believe P3D will the future of flight simulation for the many enthusiasts that love to learn and explore the different areas of aviation. FSXtoP3D Migrator is a handy tool that can be purchased at Simmarket and can easily import both payware and freeware addons and scenery into P3D without problems. More and more, payware developers like Aerosoft and Orbx FTX are making their products compatible with P3D. I'm very excited about P3D and very impressed with Lockheed Martin.

Well, I think the best improvement is, as a 32bit program FSX was originally not designed to be used with high end multicore systems, and unfortunately less RAM can be adressed by FSX. I may be wrong, but I think Prepar3D is a 64bit program, and therefore more RAM can be adressed. I experienced slightly better framerates in Prepar3D, not much though.. You need a quite good pc anyway to get a constant good frames of at least let's say 30fps. No matter if it's FSX or Prepar3D what you are using.

It's just MS ESP with some tweaks, ESP is identical to FSX, but the licence agreement is tailor made to allow for things like redistribution and re-coding. ORBX (a large FSX developer) now gives cross licencing free of charge on all products, the EH101 is the default FSX models and the C206 is a Carenado model.

the problem is that there are actually many classified things in these newest military jets that preventing some simulator developers to create realistic consumer simulation based these certain jets (for example, many doubted that DCS F-22 will be as true to life as DCS A-10 due to many classified things in F-22 compared to A-10)... while prepar3d isn't exactly a consumer product as long as it use windows and other public OS it will risk leaks.

Wow awesome pc .... !! But I guess, Seattle is simply way too detailed ... 20fps in Seattle seems legit even for a high class pc like yours ... (wait we're now talking about FSX, right ..?) Have you ever tweaked your FSX.cfg a bit ..? And are you using an external fps limiter, which might help a lot .. As well, I try to keep my pc as clean as possible. Get rid of crap you don't need and defrag your system after huge installs, such as orbx or planes from pmdg.

For all of you people who think you have it out they pretty much have the rights to game, made it better, and now you have prepar3dv2. You can get the academic license for $60.00. This is simply licensing for what you can use the game for. I understand that some of your minds can't wrap around that concept but $60.00 is a hell of a great price for this. Go to the forums and you can find modules to FSX to P3D and then you have a better version of FSX and all your favorite stuff.
@DaRealStiffhand11 жыл бұрын
The sole reason Lockheed wanted this software is to sell it to the military (Probably not as a stand alone app but as part of a flight sim setup with hardware as well). Lockheed has no real interest in gamers. Their business is defense. When you think about it, this was a very smart move for them depending on what the cost was. MS has already done all the grunt work and created a very realistic piece of software. I guess being focused on a different market, they didn't see the potential left.

As already mentioned in the description, Prepar3D uses the Microsoft ESP technology. Of course it looks like FSX mostly. Still, it is much better than FSX, and x-plane crap is not even compareable to Prepar3D. It is way more stable than FSX, it can be used as a platform for developer, last but not least in Prepar3D you can go down under water.

It looks just like FSX. Do I understand it correctly that this is a continuation of Microsoft's Flight Simulator, which stopped being a simulator (see Flight)? Is it at least 64bit compatible, or will I get the same crashes and errors I got in FSX under Windows 8? If yes then I guess it's time to abandon FSX. One reason is the new X-Plane and this is making it a definitive decision. Will be glad to finally fly a not-outdated simulator, compatible with FSX addons
@CnopAviation11 жыл бұрын
LM bought FSX engine, and continues to develop it. This is basicly FSX service pack 3 now, and it's getting better all the time. They're adding all the features we missed from FSX.

CnopAvia New features? Which means longer loading times and way lower FPS than I got in FSX, even if I disabled AA, filtering and set it to medium details? And I can run FSX on 30+ FPS with max details and REX installed... And not to forget that it even has no menu, which also adds more time cause you must spawn with the annoying F22

I guess you used an old version of the sim or tested it for 10 minutes without really understanding how it works or what it is. Check their own change logs for updates, there are a lot of them. Everyone will eventually go for Prepar3D.

I think Lockheed Martin is careful with putting that in. For instance, the only thing they have to put in for the F-22 to work properly is the exterior and cockpit design, which is nothing special, new or classified. Then they have to intergrate the flight dynamics of the aircraft, in this case, the F-22's super maneuverability. The material that makes is stealth is classified, and they don't show that in this simulator.

but 100% realistic maneuverability can also be a classified thing, it can be used to analyze the performance and limitation of F-22 and used against them all at uber cheap cost, countries like china for example would love it lol. and then the avionics and other man to machine interfaces they are usually classifieds; there is a reason why we haven't seen any AESA radar in consumer simulators. but then again I'm sure these companies and governments are not that dumb lol.
