Hey friends! Life isn’t normal for anybody right now, but we’re doing our best to upload regular content for our community of fans and friends. That means we’ll be editing as much as we can from the videos we shot before we went on quarantine--and pushing ourselves to make some fun new things to keep you company, wherever you are. We love you guys!

Arctic Donkey Well, when she’s racist while driving, and is racist to a particular race, doesn’t that mean she DOES think one race is superior??? Like for example a Hispanic made a mistake while driving. And then an asian makes a mistake and she gets even more mad than she did with the Hispanic. She thinks Hispanics are more superior OBVIOUSLY. Omfg you’re so stupid it’s killing me.And “since you obviously don’t know what a dictionary is” EW TF. What kind of lame ass comeback is that.

Black people cannot be racist because we are not the majority/ in position of power. We can be prejudice but not racist. The question “are you racist” is so much deeper then people think. You can simply answer it because humans naturally go off first appearance and past experience as a guide. I love Cut, this episode highlighted so many facets to this topic: it eluded to systemic vs individualistic racism, it touched on prejudice, on psychology re. how humans naturally group and distrust those with features dissimilar to your group/you're not exposed to, social movements, to personal struggles in overcoming those instincts, people's own experiences of discrimination, and more. I saw one person having a meltdown in the comments over the idea that some of the speakers perhaps weren't acutely aware of the academic differences between specific forms of racism, but this episode did exactly what it was meant to do to - to open a dialogue, and share thoughts. Was noice.

I feel like almost all of us have racism rooted one way or another in our subconscious mind. It just doesn't appear to us so easily or we don't like to admit it. I think it is a result of our upbringing or experiencing people we love/respect documenting racism at a young age and we just sort of absorb those beliefs and reflect them.
@bessidahorse

I don’t think it’s necessarily racism, just prejudice. Prejudice is having an opinion on someone without any actual evidence for this opinion. And while people may have prejudice on a race, in many cases, it is more of a in the heat moment where they do this; not always an opinion they will keep or be proud of. When I think of racism, I would describe it as treating someone worse because of their race, not as a stereotype that pops into our head every once in awhile.

T S bruh what, racism is different to systematic racism. Racism is “prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race; the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race.” This is the definition. Also systematic racism is no longer real, yes it was at a point but not anymore. Did you know that off of statistical sat scores black people require the lowest average sat score to get into colleges, legit whites and Asians require the highest sat scores. Also did you know that statistically white cops are not more likely to shoot black people, legit black cops are just as likely. Systematic racism is hardly real and the sliver that exists, is anti white and Asian. Do not hit me with that “who has the power” stuff lol

@@Fuchernaut puerto rico is not a homogenous country, are you forgetting that the country was colonized? also puerto rican is NOT a race, its a nationality... there are black brown and white puerto ricans that experience life differently just how there are many different races and ethnicities in america. but do you notice how in america puerto ricans race isnt always considered white despite the country being majority ethnically white? its because race is a social construct where its contexts and defintions change depending on factors such as time, region, and class... it doesnt make sense because there are no real ground rules to it, things change depending on culture and situation. an american italian who is fourth generation in present year has a completely different relationship with whiteness than an italian who is an immigrant from the country to america in the early 1900s

Edit: no I’m not a descendant of a colonist, this is also what I mean by saying Americans are ignorant, how can they be so educated. But even if I were , that could not more irrelevant to who I am as a person and how I contribute to destroying social injustice. "Racism is defined as a power structure that allows one group to put a system in place where they use their race to direct discrimination against people of different race based on the belief that their own race is superior. It has been around since the transatlantic slave trade where the idea of one race being superior to another became instituted in order to excuse the enslavement of a group of people based solely off the color of their skin. Racism is nothing new in America, but too much of the conversation mistakes being prejudice to being racist. Racism can only exist when one group has power and influence over another. Black people have often been accused of being racist by the very people who were racist to them. The issue with calling a Black person racist is that Black people, by definition, cannot be racist. Racism only exist within a power structure that systematically and institutionally rewards whiteness. The closer you are to being white, the more power you hold." THE WORD YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IS PREJUDICE. EDUCATE YOURSELF.

Kayla E They define racist differently. As I’m having power. Personally, I think anybody can be racist. Living in a few different countries throughout my life it goes beyond just skin color. You could dislike someone through colorism or even have the same race but different ethnicity hence hate. However, there’s a big difference between a homeless white person yelling the N-Word and country not letting people vote due to race. One of those things affect people’s lives a lot more and matters a lot more. Some racism matters more than others

Anybody should be able to make jokes about any race without getting beat up. The stereotypes can be funny sometimes. When somebody makes fun of white people. I laugh. Black people. I laugh. Jews. I laugh Irish. I laugh. Scandinavian. I laugh. It just doesn’t matter as much as people say it does. If someone is seriously mistreating someone because of their skin color then that’s a problem.
