I'm so glad that you include the overall feeling in your diet tips. There is no one fit all. If you go on a keto diet e.g. and you just feel horrible, you hate the meals and it feels like a burden, maybe another diet is right for you. Same goes for exercising: if you hate e.g. running and you tried to like it for a certain amount of time, but you still hate it, maybe it is just not for you. Maybe cycling, swimming or nordic walking could be what you enjoy. As Tracy says, life is trial and error.

One reason I love weightlifting and resistance training is because actually raises your resting metabolism! More muscle = higher metabolism. Ladies, don’t be afraid of adding some weights into your routine 💪 Also I wanted to agree that you are so right about not always having motivation to workout. I work 12 hour shifts (nurse) .. sometimes I work night shift , sometimes dayshift.. but I don’t use that as a excuse. No matter what my schedule is like that week I make sure to get the workouts in somehow. Sometimes that means I’m waking up at 3am or even going to bed at 3am. Either way, I get the job done ✅

Thank you for saying all diets help one to lose weight. I’ve done them all and found not counting calories is best. It’s what we can sustain, like you said. I like eating lots of veggies, salads, fruits, quinoa, rice, nuts, and organic animal protein just once a week. I eat pretty much what I want because they are healthy foods with low fat. I don’t like feeling hungry. I eat a lot of fruit. I’m 68, slim but I have to watch the treats lol!

Love this video so much👏🏼💯 Just wanted to share I am 52 started perimenopause similar to you, 38... sounds like we’ve had a similar road. On bio identical hormones and love them however, there is still the issue of sleep... I finally gave in and began taking 0.5 MG of an anti- anxiety med. I really did not want to do it but sleep is very important and my thinking is that with “the change” it may be causing a bit of anxiety... It has greatly helped for now:) Thank you for all you do and all the fantastic information!!

Thank you Lisa! Yes, it does sound like we have similarities with our perimenopause journey. I am not sure what my new plan will be, but something has to give with this sleep issue.
@NYCinderella4 жыл бұрын
Hi Lisa, I wanted to add my two cents. I too experienced sleep issues which were magnified with menopause. I went to see a sleep medicine doctor. Turns out, I have sleep apnea. He put me on CPAP therapy and let me tell you, I haven't slept this well in years - drug-free. Something to think about. . . Wishing you good health.

Great video but unfortunately different things work for different ppl. After my first baby I lost 38lbs and the only way it worked was a pure plant based vegan diet and exercise 5 days a week. I tried everything but unfortunately my body is very stubborn and needs a lot more restrictive diet than for others. Now I'm pregnant with my 3rd baby and I know already it will be a journey to loose these lbs haha 😄 Thank you for the video!

I do tons of weight exercises for my upper body along with the short 5 minute arm videos. I guess I have “menopause arms” because they look kind of thick. I’ve always had bigger arms😱 Very frustrating but at least I’m strong and lean.

Lady Bohemia no not really. I’ve always been so soft even at my peak of 40 when I was in the best shape. My mom who never exercised was all ways firm to the touch. Weird and I don’t understand. I even had big arms in high school at 116 pounds.

Sorry to hear, this Donna! I would be bringing this up with my Doctor. The hump is a concern. I am sure the posture is due to your large breasts. I would recommend searching exercises and braces to help correct that. But it also takes conscious awareness and discipline in elf-correcting to help correct. Good Luck!
