awesome tips - M6 screws - lift the bike just to aliviate weight on the forks and the throttle cables do rub on the fairings. (wondered that)

Thank you! Installation was flawless..I followed your tips, I jacked the engine to raise the fork..no need to hammer the triple tee, it just slid in. I also used an m6 bolt about 60mm long from underneath and a metal spacer..very secure now. I also zip tied the metal cable guide and moved the direction of the brake master hose a little. Only the throttle cable slightly touches the right fairing..but ignorable. It looks like factory to me. Also Installed a cheap ebay arashi footpeg relocator, and now, position is very much like my old cbr600f4.

To anyone wishing to the mod, but afraid of the cables touching the right fairing. When you put the triple clamp back on, lift up the clamp like 1-2 mm, and then screw it on. This way the cables on the right doesn't touch the fairing.

Hey, thanks man! great idea for jacking up the engine! and you're absolutely right about getting screws to lock the clip ons in place, not sure if i mentioned it in my tutorial video but right after i did the mod the first time, i went out to ride and popped a wheelie... the clip ons both went in different directions and it was a liiiitle scary! nice video man! i will definitely be doing the screw trick. by the way.... that Florida weather is killing me!! it's been around 10 degrees here or colder for the last two weeks, it's supposed to warm up in the 40's this weekend for christmas... thinking about taking the bike out hahahaha! Merry Christmas!

+RayRay3866, yea man! That story sounded absolutely terrifying haha! And yowza, 40 degrees, doesn't sound fun at all. BUT it will make for an awesome video ;D Thanks man Merry Christmas to you and your family as well!

Hi. Did you say you put a nut on the m6 bolt? The video was cut on that part. Do you need a spacer as well? Planning on doing this and I already have the m6 bolt
@thesharperb474 жыл бұрын
Yes! I would use a washer and nut to make sure everything is secure! Good luck!

Hey did you have any issuse with the new screws not going all the way in? I have the same screws and they get tight going half way in
@pathfidelino54247 жыл бұрын
hi sir..i think the new screw is long,can you give me idea about the size,i mean shorter than you have? thank you very much! merry christmas and happy new year :)
@thesharperb477 жыл бұрын
Hey +Path Fidelino, I would not recommend getting a screw shorter than 60mm because it might not be long enough if you're threading it from the top. If you want to thread it from the bottom, it needs to be at least 35mm or it won't be long enough! Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions. Happy Holidays!

TheSharperB what’s the length of the screw up until the locking bolts? I’m looking to get a screw and hoping that it’s not that long. 60mm would seem like it would still be sticking out.

they're bolts not screws

bad idea very dangerous just buy race clip ons you're going to crash
@thesharperb473 жыл бұрын
I didn't crash while I had the bike in this configuration! I agree that you should invest in proper upgrades. But if you're just starting out this can be a good way to learn your bike by getting a feel for it.
