hello sir. just wanted to tell you that your sound is burning a little bit, maybe try lowering the sound level on the device youre recording, lowering the volume in the edit after its burned sadly wont help. hope im not being rude! LOVE the videos!!!

Hmmm. I just record on my iPhone and I assumed the volume level at the time didn’t affect the recording. Usually I increase the volume in the edit, but I really know very little about this. The sound often frustrates me 😀

Great points here Stephen. A perfect representation of a scene that has poor compositional elements will just be a bad drawing perfectly executed.

When you're drawing, are you looking more at the subject, or your drawing? Where do your eyes go when you draw?

Much more at the subject in my experience. The most important part of accuracy is seeing clearly all the compositional elements of the subject, as well as the details. It's also good to compare your drawing to the subject consistently throughout the process.

More at the subject if I had to say. But I look at both a lot. It’s worth watching my real-time videos to have a sense of the balance 😀

Mostly it does as it makes it easier to video etc and it is easiest that way most of the time. But because I’m drawing freehand it can end up smaller or larger!😆

It’s just low adhesive masking tape from a hardware store 😀

Awesome drawing. When I look at it, the large tree trunk really comes alive and works with the steps very well. Interesting implication if you take your own photographs for source material. If you become a better photographer you can give yourself a leg up for more compelling drawings. [Of course one still needs to disceern what makes a compelling composition in order to take a decent picture. :)] I came to that conclusion a while back (I use my photos for reference most of the time) and while I don't need spot perfect photos (but I would like them :)), I always keep the idea that I might draw it in mind and I am trying to get gradually better at taking photos since it supports what I'm going to draw.

I was just thinking about that. I prefer to work from my own photos as well, and have regretted the composition more than once! It's a learning process though.
