Here's a short tip for dealing with harshness when mixing and mastering.
You can try this on individual channels, on the whole mix or during mastering depending on the audio you are working on.
Cutting this harsh area is an option, but have you ever tried boosting around it? or thought about what frequencies the sound needs more of for it to be less harsh? Give it a go to achieve a tasteful frequency balance!
