Apparently, yes, if they're shade #13. #12 is okay for brief glances, but not long-term exposure. #14 is gonna be too dark. This is according to NASA.

High-shade welding glass can work, but we don't usually recommend it since people unfamiliar with welding glass might use some that isn't strong enough. It also might add a greenish hue to the Sun in a way that the special glasses (ISO 12312-2) won't do.

@@radicalracer7825 so, I double-checked. NASA says shade #12 is safe for "limited viewing", shade #13 is safe for long-term viewing, and shade #14 is actually too dark.
