I couldn't believe that jets from area 51 were doing maneuvers right over my head. The largest abandoned mine I've ever found in great condition. The mine is the Rachel Lincoln Tungsten Mine just over the mountain from area 51. I had to take a rough dirt road that brought me very high in elevation. One room had so many bats flying in circles I couldn't go in, but got good shots. I had a college professor who worked for Shell Corporation. He use to travel the world taking core samples of specific sites that had potential of oil drilling. I gues they would take the core sample and examine it for a fossilized micro-organism. The big concrete piers are for the hoist which ran the cables going down the shaft. The cables were routed from the hoists over a sheave “pulley” mounted way up in the tipple “head frame” structure that was built over the elevator shaft. The cables routed over the sheaves are becketted/mounted to the tops of the elevator cages. Normally on a big setup the cables are routed so that as one elevator is coming up the shaft there would be a mate elevator going the opposite direction in the shaft.

In order to create a sonic boom the air in front of the planes need to have not enough time to escape it because of the speed of the plane and that speed is over Mach 2 I believe (800 mph). Which is why sonic booms are very cool things to be able to witness because you know that not many planes are able to reach those speeds. Very revolutionary things they are creating there👍🏼

Double sonic boom (BOOM BOOM) could be caused by the aircraft either in the 180° turn or from the leading or trailing edges of the wing or horizontal stabilizer. It is not an indicator that it was flying at twice the speed of sound (767 mph at sea level). Great footage of the old Tungsten Mine from outside Groom Lake. Thanks for sharing.

Speed of sound, Mach One, is about 720 mph at sea level. It is slightly slower, speed over ground, no wind, at FL's above sea level but about 720 mph basically. Those guys were Exceeding Mach One at least. But Not as fast as Mach Two.
