Excellent reviews and very informative...one request please state exactly the distance from the beach.... walking...l know you do and l may have missed some information you gave...but l have looked at hotels only to find them some distance from the beach... too far just to nip back for something you want

Blackwoods is about 50m to the beach and much closer then the Areca lodge which is approximately 700 - 800m I would think.

Fair view and not stopped any in any of them before, but have booked Areca Lodge, Deluxe Pool view, Corona building, for 10 days start of October. Hoping it will be good.

@Tremendous-m7j it was pretty good and i stayed in the Corona building which is situated at the back with pool view. No noise whatsoever from the surrounding bars. Breakfast included, but gets a bit repetitive, but you can always go out and eat.

I’ve stayed in both and I give my vote to Areca, mainly for the location and swimming pools. Breakfast without air conditioning isn’t great after a big night. Amethyst is my favorite if you can get a room, getting very busy and expensive now due to its popularity.

My only complaint of Blackwoods was the breakfast, it was never warm. I actually went down the road several times for a real breakfast. But loved the hotel otherwise.

I have stayed at both, Arecca Lodge is much better all round, I disagree with what you say about there breakfast, you scored them down just because over people have mentioned about the coffee

I did like the Areca Lodge and will probably be staying there again soon, I did agree with the other comments about the coffee at breakfast, other than that I thought it was all very good.

Yes, Black Woods is guest friendly. I stayed there in June. Lovely Hotel, great Location.
