@@jesusgeronimo312 World was when monster hunter started to truly shine because the camera controls made the game much better. World managed to get many new players to the series with it being not on the 3ds as well. My first monster hunter wad 3 ultimate and I dont recommend playing that one since there are underwater fights and they do not translate well to monster Hunter in any way. The first one I completed and got my hunter rank as high as possible was 4 ultimate and that is wheb I was able to really enjoy the series. World also made the game look cooler by adding a bunch of flashy moves that even a lance user like me managed to get some cool stuff for a weapon that just pokes things. Rise has made the series even more enjoyable by the use of silkbugs, they allow you to stay next to the mondter more and require more focus to hunt. The thing I miss the most from world is tracking the monster down with stuff like foot prints cause that really made me feel like an actual Hunter.

I've been playing MH since Freedom 2, and I have some pieces of advice to impart to newcomers: 1.) You'll be surprised at what you get when you don't care about obtaining rare materials. Don't obsess over them, and you will find more of them than you know what to do with. 2.) Distance is not safety. Learn to thrive within the "Hot Zone" of the monster. The "Hot Zone" is the area just outside of the monster's wingspan. 3.) If you play Great Sword, try not to upswing near other people when the monster is down. 4.) If you play Long Sword, try to avoid going to the same place on the monster as anyone else with a smaller weapon than you. Long Sword users are the reason Flinch Free is REQUIRED for anyone playing online. Since you can't really obtain Flinch Free decorations until High Rank, a lot of low rank players are guaranteed to not have it. I know that the anime attacks are exciting to you, but show some basic human consideration. 5.) Obtain a stockpile of honey as early as possible at all costs. Honey is the most valuable resource in the game.
@Bloopel7203 жыл бұрын
Since I've been both the causer and receiver of this problem, I'd mention it: If you are a hammer or hunting horn user, you want to generally want to stand by the head. Sns and Charge Blades as well, and be careful with those amp swings, I think they trip too. Not sure about this one, but switch axe users with an exhaustion phial. All these weapons can stun pretty effectively, and can cause an exhaustion flinch (denoted by green spit coming from the monster mouth when they flinch) Blade weapons can hit more for the tail, or other parts that take more damage from cut damage. This placement helps avoid triping Gunners, don't underestimate Exhaust ammo, they both add to exhaustion, making monster go into that state faster AND can stun. Do keep in mind that your shots can interrupt as well I think the best piece of advice was either on this channel or an interview with a developer or something. If you are unsure about a monster, or if you hunt it for the first time, play slow and safe. The example given was the person would play with a lance or gunlance. They'd let the shield take all the hits, and play safe, hitting when there was an opening, and examine for tells.

A few advices i can think of : Gather at every opportunity. Especially minerals and bones during the first quests (used to upgrade weapons) ; honey, kelbi horns, might and tenacity seeds any time you see them. Catch fish early, so you can get more from the Commercial hub system. Bonus points for the fish used to craft Large Bomb+ (sorry, forgot its name). Go on Expedition at least once on every map to learn its layout, Endemic Life location, extra camp, and some shortcuts. Don't be afraid to bail out of the fight if needed. Catch your breath, heal, resharpen your weapon, restock on items... And then go again fully refreshed. Might have a few more, but those will make the job easier.

Monster Hunter Rise is my first entry - thanks largely to the comments and gameplay from Paradise,TwoSixNine, and you (also the rest of your hunting buddies but I’m still learning names). The various crafting and forging systems are difficult to navigate. They probably wouldn’t take long to really explain, but I have no idea what takes priority. I’m just making things as I am able - not sure if I should be investing in a wide variety of goods or just a few focused ones. Thanks for videos. They definitely helped get me going through the basic gameplay loop and surviving my hunts.

the number one tip that bears repeating no matter how many times it's said is that patience is your best weapon when it comes to hunts. the monsters, your weapons, even the maps, all of it takes time to learn and you're not gonna do it over the course of an hour or two. at first you're gonna spend the full hunt timer trading body blows with something like great izuchi and it'll feel exhausting and terrible B U T , it's the learning process. you need to see how the monster moves, what its windups are for attacks, and how your weapon interacts with those different states. and eventually, you'll look back after doing a sub six minute run on something like tigrex and think "god damn, i'm good."

I just killed the first big monster, that very same great izuchi, and I was worried going in to it. I play a lot of support classes in games so I started with the hunting horn. I couldn't tell how I was doing with the babies. I was never in danger just kind of button mashing. But in that fight it clicked and it actually went really well! The timing took some getting used to, and I whiffed a lot haha. But it went pretty quick and i was able to see what my buffs did taking real damage. I just have no idea how to craft, what items do, and I'm total shit with wirebugs/wall running/jumping. I also dont have shortcuts set up and almost lost my sharpness totally.
@ReizokoRyu3 жыл бұрын
@@mcgoo721 Ahaha thats alright, buddy. Take your time and figure these things out! Definitely sharpen when the monster runs, so in between fights you are topped off and ready to go again. Also for crafting you can do that either from the pause menu or at your item chest! It lists the materials you'll need, and items with a ??? will be revealed once you craft one of it. Make sure you craft mega potions by farming honey with the Argosy ASAP! Just take your time and it will come together eventually. P.S try to go for the head with hunting horn since you do blunt, stun damage and can K.O the monster for big damage opportunities!
@ZeroZmm3 жыл бұрын
Don't use mounted monsters' finisher attack(or whatever it's called), launch the monsters into each other instead. I don't know if it's a glitch or working as intended, but when you launch a monster it'll make the other one immediately rideable, you can then loop rides by running monster 1 into 2 to 3 then to 1 again and so on.. Head for the non-target mons first cus they are much faster to ride. For example; get Magnamalo quest, Rathian and Izuchi are also there. Go for Izuchi, jump attack of Palamute and then use a silkbind attack (should be enough to get him), run to Magnamalo, attack him till the bar is full(get some extra hits in by dodge-resetting before the time runs out), launch Izuchi into Magna, as you fly off, ride Magna, move him to Rath and repeat the cycle, launch him to Rath, attack Magna with Rath, before filling the bar, run to Izuchi, launch her into it, ride, run to Mr.Malo, launch it at him, rinse and repeat. I've gotten to ride monsters 3 times this way. This is almost impossible on quests with only 2 monsters tho, since launching a monster into another that is webbed (after a launch) won't make it rideable and by the time the web is gone, you might run out of time on the mounted monster.

My number one tip for people just starting out: Blast dash. *This message brought to you by the funlance gang*
@nantukoprime3 жыл бұрын
1. Find a weapon or set of weapons you enjoy using. You're given a basic weapon of each type, which are good enough for the first couple of categories of Village Quests. You also have a training room in the village that you can travel to from the small boat/raft on the Buddy Island or through the quick travel option from your menu. Find a weapon type you like first, then start building weapons. A popular alternative method for finding the weapon for you is Arena Quests (talk to Master Utsushi in the Gathering Hub). Arena quests give you a specific set of armor, weapon, and items for that quest only. You get put into an Arena with a monster and you defeat it as quick as possible with the tools given to you. 2. While on quests, feel free to deviate slightly while completing the quest to collect resources from the map. Gathering has never been easier. 3. If you are having particular trouble with a monster, consider just using a quest to learn its moves. Strap a big honking shield on and guard. Use wirebugs to escape to safe areas of the map if needed. If you are running from the monster and you weapon is sheathed, press B to do a dive away from the monster. This dive is known as the 'superman dive', as you are invincible for a large chunk of the dive. 4. It's not reiterated enough, but there are some tricks to using wirebugs for movement. While using wirebugs to scale a wall, you can hold Right Bumper while on the wall to run up the wall. This consumes a lot of stamina. If you run out of stamina before reaching the top you will vault off the wall. At any time you are in the air with your weapon unsheathed, you can press and hold the A button to hang in the air. When doing this you will hang in the air from a wirebug without consuming a wirebug charge until you stop swinging. When the swinging stops, you will drop down. You regain stamina while hanging like this. You can somersault out of hanging around by pressing the B button. You can use a wirebug while hanging. Smartly using these tools means you can scale much larger cliffs and walls than you might originally expect. 3 wirebugs and a full stamina bar basically gives you permission to go anywhere.

I'd only make one clarification, you can start playing the Gathering Hub Quests right away without clearing all the normal village quests first. Also, if you progress further within the solo campaign while leaving the hub for later, the game actually allows you to take a special license quest to increase your HR in the hub without clearing all the required hunts. Pretty nifty but you miss out on actually hunting the monsters and their mats, so it's really up to you. Cheers!
@Magicannon_3 жыл бұрын
You can still go back and play the lower ranked hub quests anyways if you need the materials. I find the license tests more as a way to prove you are good enough to play with a more experienced friend without starting from the basement quests. It's stressed that the hub quests are balanced for 4 players at the beginning, so many players learning as they play solo tend to stick to the village quests until they end up finding the license tests.

Just tried the PC demo for a bit, having never played a MH before. I've played God Eater and seen enough MH Rise streams to know roughly how the game works in terms of gameplay loop and progression. I actually need something one level lower - How to physically play the game? The tutorial, amazingly enough, never tells you how to attack. I figured out R2 attacks with the bow, but with the switch axe that just transforms the weapon. None of the other buttons seem to actually swing the thing, and the options menu is just a supremely unhelpful selection of "Type 1" or "Type 2" controls whatever that means.

Best advice is don't pre-pick your main weapon. Even as someone who has played monster hunter in the past my "main" weapon changed in Rise thanks to the switch skills giving some weapons a totally new playstyle. I also don't think new players should start with any specific weapon. Pick what fantasy speaks to you more than the others. They all have such unique playstyle and are pretty well balanced. If you want to smash with big hammer, do it. If you want to rapid fire like legolas at the battle for helms deep, do it. Just because you're new shoudnt prevent you from playing what you want.

Can you change the colors of the armor?
@jadetopia41213 жыл бұрын
You can, it's opens up bit by bit as you progress through the game.
@zjoee3 жыл бұрын
1st pigment can be changed when you get to High Rank. The 2nd pigment can be changed after you beat the final boss monster.

So there is no way to get help in the story quests, like you can in MHW?
@kc-lz8gs3 жыл бұрын
this is my first MH game and my biggest tip is to not focus on farming armor spheres early on bc you get massively OP ones as the story advances lol. felt silly for that
@zjoee3 жыл бұрын
And so long as you pick up the optional quests every time you'll have far more armor spheres than you know what to do with. I think I'm sitting with almost 200 of the best ones haha.

Hey Arekkz! I am a veteran hunter since the portable 3rd series up until generations, I mainly played on the 3DS. Unfortunately I missed out on world since I didn't have the money to afford a PS4 or a PC. Luckily I have been blessed with the chance of having a Switch and will be able to join the hunt with Rise with the finesse of World as well. I would love if you could possibly make a video on how crafting, forging and upgrading works now? It looks very different from the older games and since I missed world, would it be possible for a tutorial of sorts? Thank you so much for your time and to all new hunters, get out there and explore! I really do hope you immerse yourself in the game and the franchise itself! Ride on!

Crafting, forging and upgrading got a lot more streamlined and up to modern standards. Armor upgrading is pretty much the same with armor spheres. The weapon upgrades now show a larger tree for each weapon showing what you can make. Thats a oversimplified version of it tho. Im sure he can explain it better lol. Happy hunting!

Capture? What is the difference between capturing a monster and defeating it in terms of what you get out of it?
@NeckBreakingStunts3 жыл бұрын
You only get 2 rewards for capturing versus 3 by slaying it. However, these rewards have different probabilities of being specific items depending on whether you captured or slayed the monster. So, if you need a specific part and it has a much higher chance of being a capture reward, then capture it.
@amp79803 жыл бұрын

I’m new to the Monster Hunter series and this is the first game I’ve seen. Should I play the other games before this one? The game looks VERY enticing and fun, but I want to make sure Im getting my money’s worth. Aslo, is single player LESS of an experience than multiplayer?(given quarantine) Do certain aspects of the game are not available in single player?
@nathanwidener90063 жыл бұрын
I really would only recommend to go back and play through Monster Hunter: World. The old generation games dont have the quality of life that world brought and suffer from clunky controls and hardware limitations. The only old gen game pre world I would recommend is Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on the 3ds purely for the story as IMO it has the best one. Other than those dont bother. Singleplayer isnt any less of an experience but hunting with friends is definitely more fun. World has the best multiplayer out of all the games and if you got one or two friends to play through it with you you would have a blast. Rise still needs some work on the multiplayer aspect.
