So just to clarify some things. The evidence I personally have that MAD has boosted/ cheated isn’t strong enough in the light of what MAD has just personally presented to me. That being said, I do strongly believe that MAD had created an environment for which it was almost impossible to get first place if you weren’t MAD. This all took place before Arena 2.0 and hasn’t occurred since. Aka it hasn’t happened for like 7 months. That being said, thanks to MAD for being chill and clearing things up with me personally. Finally, thanks for all the crazy good suggestions for arena changes in the comments YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!

Even better: 1) you join the lobby then you can only press attack and you get a random enemy wich has similar score than you. Dont allow to pick who you attack. IN the end it does not matter: its the same comps over and over again (wich is another big problem of the arena). 2) completely blindfold the leaderbord in apex and just reveal your current position in the ranking. DOnt show flags, BP nothing. 3) Apply your suggestions.

It happened to me some time ago. I was not being boosted, just happened to be at top one with a russian in second on a Saturday. On Sunday, at the final hours, he started winning points nonstop, and even though I refreshed and beat him more than 20 times, he still won first place with an astronomical 250 point margin. I still have the prints to this day. When I contacted the game's support, their answer was: "well you were winning against him but he was getting points as well". After that, I gave up on arena entirely, because it is borderline criminal that they are able to do this with the complacence of the developers.

@@JAndGio When It happened to me I reached out to Jake because I'd watched his video about arena boosting and knew he had faced the same problem before. Feeboo from Dragonslayers was at third place at the time, and you know he's got very strong heroes. He reached out to me in hopes we could do something about the russian, but in the end it was to no avail. I remember what Jake said when I contacted him, it sounded like it would be impossible to get that top one from the Russians as long as this keeps happening, and I've no doubt he was right. I feel for you, because I know what it feels like. You feel robbed, wronged, and the Devs simply wash their hands and let this shady practice keep going.

The easiest solution is to make the top 100 be in a queuing match where the opponent is randomized. No option for them to choose their opponent. There are games like that.

I added this into JakeSmash video on the issue: 5) My idea for get this problem of boosting partially solved (Boosting is impossible to control, but this solution avoids the top 1 boosting problem): Apply the idea of random matchmaking when you reach apex. Then add the following: from monday to saturday its "regular / normal" arena. Classification gets a cut for top 32 apex classified people by the end of saturday. During sunday this 32 top players fight in an ellimination top32 tournament. It would be auto vs auto def (Since we can record deffences it is possible to do such a thing). I would make it a best of 3 so if rng is involved try to minimize it. For transparency and allow the players to improve their defs all 3 matches should be recorded and be able to play the replay. Those replays should be available for ALL the players in the world so they can get ideas for their own comps and get a competitive aproach for those who want to push harder. By the end of sunday this matches takes place and at the end the top1 player is proclaimed. 6) what I would love: same thing but true pvp but since all servers compete time is a big issue for that. I wouldnt like to get up 03.00am to perform an arena competition :D. Still if the system is applied for each server by that I mean: top 32 per server would be also nice.

I would add: on sunday everybody can keep playing normaly (even the top 32) but it would not affect the top 1 arena position wich is decided on an elimination top 32 tournament. I think the top 1 boosting its the capital issue you are refering in your video.

I like parts of your idea. The random match making seems to be a solid solution but the rest of you idea seems quite complicated to implement. It’s not just a simple change that’s easy to digest. But having def going against def seems a bit difficult because defenses are set based off the defender’s Bp so who’s Bp would it go off of then. Thanks for presenting your idea. In my server its not a secret tho, as long as you want to communicate with other, they will give you a chance.. but its not intentionally boosting, where you refresh and get the player who wanted to be first then intentionally lose to boost them, we all just know who will be first..

I think you cannot limit it to the to 2 people as it can be fluid and dynamic. Maybe expand that to top 5. the other 2 constraints can be fine tuned and sounds reasonable.

They should incorporate some kind of VIP system like other games and your arena matches are people of the same VIP + - 1 That would open up a lot of arena opportunities for everyone along with eliminating boosting. It seems like arena is rigged and I'm going against fake accounts like any time I upgrade my team everyone I face has an equal or larger increase in power I've reached overlord once since they released the apex overlord tier or whatever it's called. And I used to get it every week without fail. I have a fairly decent account and I'll only get like 1 win every 4 or more refreshes.

With your surrgestion, if you had 50 people and they can only win to someone twice via defence and that person gain points. Now if you were trying to climb the standings, that 50 can only gain points via wins. As defence is pointless as you would only loose points from a defence but not winning. An layered with a limited pool of players issues would arrise. Now it would promote people to fight allot more to win and make it more skill based, but then its becomes a battle of attrition as some have a big bank and can purchase endless amount of arena tokens for instance. Now what could be better? 1. Once you are in the top 50 the rules of arena change completely, where it takes a pool of players from the previous week with a bp that match the average of the top 50 from overlord and plat 3 for instance into possible attack targets but give substantially less points. So by this it would make the top 50 seem like 500 when choosing fights which will in turn make fixing fights much harder. So yes again you can potentially farm fights if you have enough diamonds but as the pool would be watered down soo much it would make match fixing allot less of a issue. 2. You can change the rewards for arena and introduce a knockout tournament where you are only invited once you reach the top 100 and the top rewards lay there. The matchmaking will only allow a "X" anount from the same guild to participate in each bracket so they only reach a fights with a potential clan member by the semifinal of their perspective bracket to limit boosting. Each week the brackets have certain hero limitations or mob boosts the shake it up and thus keeping it fresh and even keep the most whale comps on their toes. 3. Have matchmaking which is completely random with no player tags or icons, but again can be exploited as you could organise random placements as a sign to a clan member

@JAndGio an your right it's down to the dev time to appease a very small amount of the playerbase. But that said the fact that these people have spent massive amounts of money on the game and devs are more scared of loosing whales and big spenders if they make changes that they don't agree with is the biggest thing. I think the implementation of a kind of league would be great to the game regardless with weekly or byweekly comps and modifiers. These issues as you may know are with every game and annoyed me massively in RSL.

Somehow I think there is a flaw in that situation, but I cant think that much at the moment. Why don't they just make Apex a fight button and you get matched with a random player - / + 50 or 25 or whatever. Then there is no selecting and it truly is your power/skill vs others. Maybe the higher you are the lower the + / - is to keep the competition tighter... Maybe. This is my 5 minute thought fix.

This is exactly why I don't get all wrapped up in PVP in gachas. It always gets warped by the fanbase. I literally don't think it's possible to create an un-warpable system, because players are cunning and conniving. I prefer to focus on PVE, and just enjoy the game for what it is.

Simple solution don’t let people choose who they attack. I’ve been playing since the game hit App Store and I’ve learned that the leaderboards don’t matter unless you’re a whale, kraken, or hardcore into the game. Leaderboards are always dominated by players with more money or time than 90% of us. But that’s ok cause they keep the lights on and the servers running at moonton. I wish we’d have localized leaderboards so skill and luck could get you to the top but it’s only one aspect of the game. I still love playing the rest of the game. Watcher has gotten too big to cater to the needs and wants of us peasant low spenders. I hope I’m wrong. I wish you guys luck in your endeavor to change the game.

In Asian server the total player number is way more less than global server. So that makes the top arena players are also very limited(50 at most). When I get into top 20, every time I refresh, 1-2 same player pops up. And I guess we will have a very low chance to find a player lower than rank 50 when we are in top 20. This might not be a big deal in global server cause I assume even rank1 vs rank 100 still will be a close match. But this is not the case in Asian server. Rank 100 almost never got a chance to beat rank 10. So my conclusion is, if they implemented what you proposed, top 50 players still can boost the “target” by refreshing opponents. To avoid that they should made top 50 get a higher chance to face lower rank players. let’s say 50-200. Because of the population issue, we even have f2p players in top 200, they will never have a chance if their defense team need to face top 50.

Ok, here's my solution. After reaching Apex you stop fighting other players and you will face AI with increase difficulty after every win, the strongest player will beat a higher AI difficulty to get 1st.

I remember I used to love gta online until I met someone wit an oppressor…then I finally started handling him and he threatened me in voice said my address, and shut my net off for a bit. Sorry to say that, as I'd like to help you in your cause: But your solution isn't good as it aims to restrict only some players. Rules should always applied to all players, if not, it can't be a competition. That said, I think moonton's answer is appropriate and there should be a better way to counteract that fraud. As being a llvl100 player myself, getting to overlord every week, I have more concerns about the pay-2-win scheme in the arena, seing so much Praetus, Ingrids and Valderons on A3 and more, which without a lot of money you never could have that luck to get them in this numbers. This is a much bigger problem for the game and it will not exist for a long time, just think of all the other games that died using the same money making scheme.
